Kalina was starting to come to terms with the sad reality that was thrown into her face. She did not expect to join starfleet, and get assigned to a ship, and assigned a husband all at the same time.

Kalina had placed another call to Kieran. She needed more guidance, and she felt that Kieran would be able to help her. "Maybe your right." Kalina suggested to Kieran.

"You know I am." Kieran flat out said to her sister. "You are being unfare to him, and to the process. All I am suggesting is you talk to the guy again. You said so yourself, you both seemed to share a moment. Didn't you?" Kieran asked.

"Yes we did. But that was before I knew he was going to marry me, because of auntie. So was it really organic or forced?" Kalina asked Kieran.

Kieran never imagined her life like this. All planned out for her. She wanted to find love the old fashion way, meet a guy, full in love. They were betazed's that fell in love naturally, and not by arranged marriages. She wanted to be one of those people. Now that choice was taken away from her. And she resented that fact.

"Only one way to find out, see him again. Stop hiding." Kieran said, deciding to give her sister a little tough love.

"I know you are right, but I feel if I do that. I am acknowledging this wedding is going to happen." Kalina pointed out to Kieran.

"It's gonna happen sweetie." Kieran said, with a stern tone. "You know as well as I do, that its very difficult to get out of a wedding arrangment." Kieran pointed out to Kalina.

Kalina knew she was right. She did not want to admit that fact. But the facts are the facts. She was going to get married sooner versus later. All she could do, was delay it a little bit.

"Kalina, dont be stubborn. Give the man a chance." Kieran told her, hoping what she was saying, was not falling on deaf ears.

"Your right, what else is new." Kalina called out with annoyed tone to her voice. She wanted Kieran to help her out of the marriage, not convince her to go through with it.

Deep down she knew Kieran would not do that, but she could dream that she would be able too. Kieran was a traditionalist. And believed in the rights and customs of Betazed. Now hear was Kalina, asking her to break them. Kalina knew she would not. Maybe deep down, she did not want to be talked out of it. Just needed someone to push her a little.

"It's not about me being write or wrong, its about you accepting your aunt's offer, or not and preparing to face the consenquences." Kieran pointed out to Kalina.

"I know, I know." Kalina said, not really having any other place to go with this conversation. She knew she needed to make a decision, and to stand by that decision.

"It's not as easy as you think it is." Kalina said, trying to justify to her and in her own mind, that she needed time to process this still.

"Is that what you are doing?" Kieran asked her in a very skeptical tone. She knew that her sister, was trying to make excuses.

"Yes, I promise I will talk to him in a couple of days. I need time to process this all. Plus I have not talked to Mom or Dad yet. Just you." Kalina pointed out to Kieran.

"Have you talked to Haro?" Kieran asked. She was knew there was a bit of an age gap between them. But he was still her older brother, and probably a good person to talk too.

"No." Kalina said, feeling guilty about that as well.

"Why not?" Kieran asked, with a surprised look on her face.

"Same reason, I have not talked to our parents. I am working up to it."

"Mom and Dad already know, they made the arrangement." Kieran pointed out to Kalina.

"I dont want to be upset with them, when I do call. I am trying to gather my composure, before calling them." Kalina said, with a concerned look on her face. She did not want to get a lecture about respecting Betazed customs, by her parents.

"I get that, and probably the right call. But you can not put this off for ever." Kieran said, with a big smile on her face.

"I know, I will talk to them. And soon." Kalina said, trying to reassure her sister, to mainly get her off her ass about it.

"Im serious, you can not keep delaying this. Not fair to anyone, especially you." Kieran stated again, she wanted to make sure that Kalina was listening to her advice.

"I hate it, when you are right" Kalina pointed out to her, in a slightly agitated voice.

"Sometimes we needed to be reminded, what is right thing to do." Kieran told her, hoping she would see the logic in her words.

"Perhaps, but the right thing is not always the easiest thing. And you are right, I need to tell them. Listen to me I sound like a broke record." Kalina

"You are not a broken record, you are my sister and you will be fine." Kieran could tell that she needed some reassurance, she hated the fact that she had to leave soon.

"I appreciate it, I really do." Kalina was grateful for the information, she needed time now to process it all.

"I need to get going sister, keep in touch. Let know when you talk to Mom and Dad, and Hero, and when you talk to Zaire." Kieran told her making sure she did not miss anyone.

"I will, and thanks for taking the tim to chat with me." Kalina said, as she looked into the monitor at her sister.

"Any time sis, were family. We are hear for each other." Kieran pointed out to her, as the scene starts to fade away.

"Love you, bye." Kalina said, as the scene fades away.

The End
