Stepping though the doorway quickly and then taking a few steps to her immediate right. Heidy paused for a moment before stepping up to one of the consoles next to the regular Type-2 phasers. Unlike some she had met her time in service, who likely salivated or felt a little giddy when stood in the starships gun room, She felt none of these things. Even after close to two years with security going armed during the course of her duties still felt a little odd and this room still made her a little nervous.

She keyed in the appropriate permission codes and protocols selecting the next available, which happens to be the phaser on the upper left rack, reaching up and shaping it to her side. She glanced over the other side of the room, catching the attention of an female officer, in an effort to be polite and maybe build bridges she smiled and acknowledged. "Sir, uneventful shift I trust?"

"I prefer Ma'am over sir, but to answer your question, I try to make the most of an uneventful day, an uneventful day is a good day in security, means no one is shooting at us, we all get come home alive." Said Elloma as she started to walk around the room, visually inspecting the room.

"I will try and remember that for future." She added with a flicker of a smile as she turned and leaned against the bulkhead, hands behind her lower back, watching the other woman stating to pace. "I hear you on that one, although i end up with the after fight rather than the fight itself, still easy life is a good life. Heidy Dilucca, Petty Officer 3rd class, pleased to meet you Ma'am."

"Like wise Petty Officer Dilucca. Everything seems in order as far as tidiness, very impressive." Said Elloma, as she grabbed a rifle from the locker and inspected it.

Giving a sideways glance as the Ensign, who was still nameless, and rather than a direct correction, she took a more playful approach. "Well like you say, quite day, not much else to do but keep things in order. You should see the Brigs, them consoles are spotless."

"When was the last time all of the rifles were fired and certified?" Asked Elloma. She was trying to get through all the technical dialogue, so they can talk more casually before she left the armory.

"I would have to look that up, I haven't had Armory shift as yet." She answered honestly with a slight shrug of her shoulders, before pushing off tand away from the bulkhead and stepping back to one of the inventory consoles and keying in the appropriate commands to bring up logs and records. "Let see here. Ah! Stardate , all rifles checked, test fired and certified, familer date the same the Pioneer shiped out and I came aboard."

"Good good," she started off as she put the rifle back in the locker. She walked over to the petty officer. "I am sorry, I don't think I properly introduce myself, Ensign Elloma Essu, Assistant Chief of Security. You mentioned this is not your primary role on the Pioneer, where do you typically work?" Asked Elloma, trying to make small talk.

"Brig Officer. But two days out of a starbase on a scouting mission, we don't exactly have a full house." She accknowlaged and explained in her usual phrasing. "So after a shift of system checks first day, I've been lumped in with standered patrols, which isn't to bad I get to learn the ship at least."

"I can relate, its why I am roaming around, trying to learn a little about ever position we have in the security and tactical sections of the Pioneer."

Heidy smiled and nodded at this comment, it did make sense that an officer in her position would want a general grasp of all the goings on, latching on the 'learn a little about' Heidy hoped that meant knowing enough to delegate and then leave people to get on with their roles in there usual fashion.

"Have you made your rounds yet to the brig?" She asked, wanting to leave the armor soon. Everything was in order in the armory.

"No Ma'am" She stated honestly before adding. "But that was about to be my first port of call. "If you wanted to inspect them, I could acompany you, perhaps we could learn some more about our corner of the boat?"

"I would like that, lead the way Petty Officer." She said, she was still trying to get her mind off of last night. At some point, she would have to confront Chloe and the Captain again.

Taking immediate advantage of the offer, Heidy started for the door, and thumbed at the keypad to check herself out. Stepping out into the corridor, the brig area was on this deck but thankfully not right next to the armory, in the short walk all she could think to ask was, a rather predictable and probably impertinent. "So, is this your first deep space assignment, Ensign?"

"That obvious?" She asked being a little embarrassed. She wished she had gone with most of her class to deep space, she was stuck on the academy grounds, protecting the academy for a good part of a year. The USS Pioneer was her assignment and she was grateful to be given the chance to serve as Assistant Chief of Security/Tactical.

"Not particularly you come across reasonably self assured, but your an Ensign and I figure your in your early twenties, it's not that much of a stretch." Heidy said with a shrug.

"How about you Petty Officer, first deep space exploration, or did you get stuck planet side like I did?" She asked as waited for Heidy to explain to her the road she took to get on the USS Pioneer. She was a little curious, and it passed the time to get to the brig area.

"Neither, the closest I've come to planetside is an assigned to a starbase for two years which is similar, sort of, well in that your in once place I guess but without the natural environment and atmosphere and distinctive native culture." Having to disagree at first had led to her trying to find a common point which was leading into a little bit of a ramble, which she attempted to get away from by stating how she got her start. "That aside, I signed up when I was eighteen, I'm from a colony world a little isolated except for Starfleet dropping by occasionally, a teen me figured they had a good life so why not see if I could have that life, I asked they gave me want I needed to get the ball rolling. All that was ten years ago, a few things happened in the meantime." Heidy paused and smiled across at Elloma. "Oh yeah I can ramble with the best as well."

"No reason to apologize for who you are, A little ramble is not bad when you are trying to learn about your fellow security officers." Suggested Elloma.

"Well here we are." As they passed though a doorway and turned into the corridor that connected all three cells, empty, as was the first cell area they entered. "Diagnostic time I guess, care to join me?"

"Yes, what are you going to show me first?" Asked Elloma waiting to learn more about Heidy. She was impressed, 10 years already with Starfleet. And she just graduated from the academy.

Thinking for a moment Heidy decided on going though the whole process. "First thing I do is run diagnostics on the identificafion and support systems. Starting with the logging of the bio scan, the possessions sweep, onto the environmental checks, and finally inmate monitoring." She keyed the rooms console to set a level 4 diagnostic on those systems, and queuing a simulation. "Of course the best test is a dummy run, I've set one up with myself as the subect, care to monitor as I walk it though?"

Elloma stood over the console, as Heidy prepared to do her walk through. She wanted to give her as much space as needed for this walk through.

Walking to a spot roughly halfway between the door and console Heidy turned and waited for audible note from the computer, once it sounded she walked carefully forward made two small half turns, calmly walking and stepping into the cell, "don't go putting up that forcefield now" She commented with a smile towards the Ensign before seating herself on the bench, crossing one leg over the other and waited for a moment or two, before enquiring "All done?"

Elloma watched as Heidy sat in the cell, she observed from the monitoring station. "Nicely done." Said Elloma, with a small grin on her face.

Unpromising her legs with a flick, she paced back to the monitoring console. "Thank you, all in the green too. Rinse and Repeat with the others, dull I know but got to be done. Shall we." Heidy responded matter of factly, and started for the door once again. Still curious about Elloma she asked. "So where's home? Or where was home?"

"I like to think of the Pioneer as my home." Said Elloma, thinking back on her childhood. She was not really fond of her parents and their close-minded xenophobic ways and their snobbish attitude towards everyone.

"Good attitude, make the ship your home, it'll work for you once you start moving around with changing assignements." Heidy commanded with a smile, but it didn't take a mind reader to figure the dodge question was probably a bit of trouble in her past, Heidy was all to familer with that particular weight. Time to shift focus. "What specialty did you focus on? Ground Warfare, Space Warfare, or are you into the techie stuff?"

"Ground Warfare, mainly. I do have tactical operations training for the bridge officer's program. Most commissioned officers do, I suppose. My main focus in on ground warfare." Elloma said, looking at Heidy, and wondering why the sudden interest in her security background. She had to remind herself, that humans were a curious race.

"Good to know, I guess we'll be crossing paths frequently then." Heidy responded with a smile as they turned into the next cell area.
