Mission: Episode 11 - Family Matters
Location: SCIF - Deck 9 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD002 1100 hrs

Jennifer walked out of her office in to the main room. Shew threw a padd on the table in the center. "Can anyone in the name of all that is sane tell me what this is?" There was a little hint of frustration in her voice, as this had never happened before in the whole time she served on the Pioneer in both of the positions she served.

"And don't tell me it is intell, I am not stupid. And I know we are intell, and not diplomacy or language specialists. But come on people. This what we do, decode, even if it's in another language." She put her hand on her head and sighed. She picked up the padd. "Where are we on all the date from Empok Nor?" Changing the subject trying to get a report on the current situation.

"It seems that at least some of what happened on the station was an inside job. Captain Hood has one of his people investigating. We are also working on a trace for Commander tr'Hwersuil." Billy said with a business tone. He had Jen had agreed to keep their marriage out of the SCIF.

Jayna picked up the PADD and thumbed through it. "Where did this come from?"

"I don't know, it was on my desk," Jenn replied Jayna. And she nodded to Billy, "Good, carry on. I would like a report in about two hours."

"Yes ma'am!" Billy replied as he turned toward his terminal and the trace he had been working on. It was an exceptionally hard one, but the information on Romulan computers that the Commander provided would prove to be a big help.

"Excellent, mister Calhoun, I am looking forward to your report on that." She smiled and nodded before turning to the rest of the group.

"I can try and trace the PADD, if you'd like," Jayna said.

Makeba sat straight as a board in her new gray uniform. Malbrooke and O Flannagain had seen to her reinstatement into Starfleet. However, they did not see to a reinstatement of rank, not even provisionally. It was something that ate at her from the inside. However, for the time being there was nothing that she could do about it. Her new official assignment was as a HUMINT Agent and to liaise between the two Intel Departments. As such she did not have anything to add for data collection. She waited for her new boss to give her any orders. Makeba had acclimated pretty well to the SCIF her only problem was the glares that Tobias kept giving her.

Jayna noticed the glares. When she had a chance she whispered to Makeba, "Ignore him. He glares at everyone."

Makeba smiled at Jayna, the two had developed a friendship since the events at Empok Nor. Well fighting side by side would do that to people. "He is nothing that I cannot handle. Besides we will just call Doc O'Rourke when he gets eye strain."

Jen handed Jayna the padd. "Have at it." She just said and turned to Makeba. "Miss Brown, how are those mission reports readings coming along? Anything new to report." She was a bit uncomfortable with this woman on her team now, and in Intell trust is a token hardly earned. But she was ordered to make the best of it, and so she did.

Jayna began to look through it. She wanted to read what it said for clues before doing an in-depth analysis.

Makeba rested her chin on her hands as she thought for a moment. She wrestled with exactly how to respond. She had no problem with Masters, or rather Calhoun-Masters. However, Makeba was a field agent used to flying by the seat of her pants. Filing reports was not something she ever thought she would get used to, but she was ordered to make the best of it. And so she did.

"Nothing new out of the Trivas System or Cardassian space for that matter ma'am. The search for Leyton continues with Starbase Port Royale leading that charge. It also seems that Captain Hood and his crew have a lead on how station security was so easily penetrated." Makeba tapped a few buttons on the console in front of her and map of various sectors of space became visable. "As we turn toward the Romulans what we are looking at here are the two most active areas of their territory. The first is an area where they are working on recreating a new homeworld and the other is unknown, just some heavy fleet traffic there. We are scanning for cloaked vessels. Reports indicate that there is a lot of infighting within the former Empire. One group seeks a return to the Empire and the other seeks something different. Something that would be more in line with galactic peace and cooperation."

Jayna paused to listen to the verbal report. The news was both promising and disturbing. A civil war among the Romulans could spread. She was also curious about the second sector of space and what might be going on there.

Jenn just nodded as she listened. Then she said, "Send everything you got to my office." She then walked to Beckett. "Beckett, you're the only one that hasn't reported yet. Anything to report?"

"Just to expand upon what Ms Brown said about what Hood is doing on Empok Nor. It seems that he has given Lieutenant Essu the mission of finding out what happened to Calvin Quaid. He was the Chief Strategic Operations Officer for the station. He also happens to be the only crew member who has not reported in since the brief occupation of the station." Beckett's voice was a little timid. He took a note to make an appointment with the ship's counselor. There was a lot going on in his head.

Jayna took the PADD to her console so she could run some programs to see what information she could find. After several minutes, she said. "I found a partial signature to indicate where the data may have come from, but I'm not sure how much help it'll be." She turned the screen so Jennifer could read it.

"Oh, right," said Jenn as she looked to the partial signature. "I know what that is." She grabbed the Padd. "Thank you, miss Mira." She then turned back to Beckett. "Thank you, Beckett, continue on." She walked to her office. She then turned around. "Friday evening drinks again, people. See you there." She walked in to her office wondering how the department gotten so boring. They really needed something interesting happening.

Billy watched his wife and commanding officer head to her office. He could tell what she was thinking and he hoped that something would happen soon to snap them all out of the doldrums. With the Romulans anything can happen he thought.

Makeba smirked at the concept of departmental drinks, that was something very different from the last time that she was on active duty. She could not resist. "You bet, and you better be buyin boss..." She chuckled.
