Mission: Episode 10 - New Home, Same Pioneers
Location: Quinn's Quarters
Timeline: MD010 1030 hrs

when was having a hard time grasping the conversation you just had with Domingo Martinez the rear admiral of task force 99. He knew that Domingo was the task force commanding officer, but what he didn't know was he was going to say yes to the promotion. He managed to hold it back till the end of his current tour on the USS Pioneer.

Quinn he will up not be given too many more chances for command. At the moment though he felt like he had too many obligations still to this crew to its mission and to his captain. He liked it here and didn't want to give it up so easily.

the way he saw it now he had 2 years to complete everything he wants to on the pioneer, he wants to leave a ship and a better place than you found it and so far he felt like he was on that right path.

It helped that two years would be enough time oh, he still wanted to know what happened to the Pioneer and that year that the crew disappeared into their own alternate realities because the logs clearly shows that the ship was not dormant but the logs have been wiped.

Who use the ship and why what purpose was it Starfleet was it the Romulan’s oh, was it another race that they never heard of before? There are so many unanswered questions and Quinn wanted to get those answers before he left the ship.

Then there is the whole issue of making sure the crew would be okay with his departure, you like this group was a good group of officers some of the best and Starfleet had to offer and I said a lot because he had been to a few different assignments in his career. Tyler had assembled a really good unit.

He felt at home here, but deep down he also knew he didn't want to be a 15-year first officer either. as much as he loved the Pioneer he knew that Tyler wouldn't be giving it up for at least another 20 to 30 years so if you ever wanted his own command he would have to accept another assignment.

Quinn had a hard time believing that in 9 years, he would be taking a command of his own. He knew there where other officers like William Riker, that waited 15 years. Chakotay waited for 7 years. Spock was Kirk's XO on several occasions. Now granted he was promoted to Captain, and later took a demotion to first officer, to be with his friend.

But it was not unrealistic for Quinn to be a little hesitant on wanting to take a promotion. A lot of great Starfleet's did not jump at the first opportunity, and deep down he wanted to be one of the greats. He felt that he could learn a lot from Tyler.

In reality it felt that Tyler was learning a lot from him, so maybe he was ready. He knew he needed to talk to Tyler. And learn all that he could from him.

He just needed to get Tyler to teach him everything. Especially now that there was a countdown clock. Quinn would be lying if he did not say, that brought a little stress onto him. He wanted to be the perfect Captain, for his crew.

First though, he felt that he needed to be the best first officer, for this crew, and start helping Tyler pick out his replacement.

Quinn just grinned, as he sat in his chair trying to think of how to approach Tyler, and convince him to share his wealth of knowledge.

"Computer, new inquiry." Quinn called out, as his eyes focused on the monitor. "Bring up all plans for Port Royale and the Rosa System to my monitor." Quinn ordered, as he decided to study up on what the Admiral was doing there, and potentially what type of ship, he might command.

The computer chimed back in, and data files started to fill up his monitor as the scene starts to fade away.
