Mission: Episode 7 - Home Again
Location: XO Ready Room
Timeline: MD002 1500 hrs

Tallida had a desire to meet each of the senior staff. While she was an awkward pile of awkwardness on legs she loved that she finally had the opportunity to meet other people. 'You never know who you might meet.' Merriam had always said. Or at least she had started saying it recently. She was the only person that supported Talli's foray into "normal" life and it was awkward. She wasn't able to tell people why she was so sheltered so she came across as an idiot servant. She let out a sigh as she tapped on the chime of the XO's office. She figured she might as well get this over with.

"Enter." Quinn called out, as he tried to rush his way out the door. But there was just so much paperwork. The mission was a success, and Starfleet wanted a report on every aspect of the mission. His part in it, the ship landing on cardassia. The attack by the True Way, by the Maquis. The capture of the council member. There was to many elements to write about, and approve reports. At this very moment, all Quinn wanted to do, was spend time with his wife and daughter.

"Good morning, Sir." Tallida said with a tip of her head. "I am Lieutenant Ovaa, the new ships counselor." She offered as she moved across the desk. By the time she decided what she would do next her legs collided with the chairs across from him and she found herself falling forward.

"You okay Counselor?" Quinn said, as he walked around his desk, to offer her a hand. This was not the typical entrance he had been expecting. This was a first time, he witness someone trip over his chairs.

Tallida wanted one, just one encounter with the chain of command that wasn't a disaster. It had been like this on the Yorktown, but at least the Captain had been amused by her and Vox was a whole different story. "I am fine, Sir." She replied in a defeated tone. Clearing her throat she straightened her uniform. "I know you are due for shoreleave, but I wanted to introduce myself."

"Have a seat please." Quinn said, as he walked over to his chair. "I appreciate you stopping by, I was hoping we would have a chance to talk. Before I went on leave. How good are you with children?" Quinn asked, knowing that Enya was acting out, first no kids on the ship, besides her. And secondly, she was testing her parents.

"Oh, uh, I..." The Angosian started. She hadn't really been around children other than birthing a few or well child visits. She looked up at him. "I will be honest with you, my last child counseling experience was during my clinicals. But," She paused. "I am sure I can handle anything." she tried to sound more sure that she was.

"I have a ten year old daughter, that is struggling with the change. She is acting a little bit, well I think more than what is typical for a little girl." Quinn said, as he waited for the counselor to say something. He hoped she would meet with Enya.

"I am happy to meet her." Tallida replied once she realized what the XO was implying. "I will be honest, I don't have much experience with children, but I was a ten year old girl once." She smiled up at him.

"I appreciate it Counselor." Quinn said, as he brushed off the comment, of not dealing with a lot of kids. He was a desperate to get her adjusted to this life style. He could have sent them off to live on the station. But he believed that families should be together.

"Anytime, Sir." Tallida said with a dip of her head. "I am here to help how I can." She grinned before she started to fidget slightly. "Is there anything else I can help you with sir?"

"Helping my daughter would be great help to me. Do you have any questions for me?" He asked, trying not to rush her out the door. He was eager to get on vacation.

"No, Sir." Tallida replied. "I am happy to figure it out as I go." She moved slightly. "I will be happy to see your daughter whenever it fits your schedule. I have been informed that the crew it partaking in a shore leave, so simply let me know and I will make it work."

"Will do, thanks for checking in. Crew is going on shore leave. Take advantage of it, dismissed Lieutenant." Quinn said, as he reached up to shake her hand, and walk her out.

Tallida's thighs collided with the back of the chair as she reached forward to return the offered hand. She let out a little 'hrumpf' and gave him a nervous smile. "Thank you, Sir." She turned on her heels and headed for the door taking all her willpower to not run. This posting was already a disaster.
