Mission: Episode 4 - The Sum of Our Parts
Location: Engineering
Timeline: MD001 1215 hrs

May 28 2394 1215 hrs (relative time)

USS Pioneer, Main Engineering, Station Choral Thai, Stardate 71390.4

Engineering was its usual organised chaos. Everyone was running rapid repairs, with systems at their limits. El was at the warp core, wearing environmental suit gloves, spraying liquid nitrogen at the injectors, cooling them to stop the warp core from what it wanted to do and explode.

The cold gas hitting a hot surface meant the air around it cooled, spraying cold water in her face as if it was raining, she wiped her eyes again, hoping this was enough...

Then everything was white. So this is what a warp core breach is like, El thought....

USS Feynman, Deck 3 section 21, Carzoria II, Stardate 71390.4

Things were still white, as Elen opened her eyes. Heaven's pretty boring if this is it she thought. And it was wet still, how was that ?

Getting used to her new surroundings, she pushed her arms out, moving the sheet from her face, straight onto the exocomp spraying water in her face.

"Dum-E ?" she questioned, recognising the little bot "How ? Why ? QUIT IT !" As another flood hit her.

The exocomp stopped, gave a two- tone bleep and floated away, heading for the door, which opened, and it left.

How could it be here she wondered, the last time she'd seen it was Finland Station, with it's 'owner', her successor, Hideki.

Looking around from she assumed her bed, she was on a starship, the Federation standard grey walls was a big hint, but the ship was parked on a planet, due to bright blue sky outside, and large amount of sunlight coming in the room.

It looked like her quarters, with her belongings around the room, much tidier than it should be, no clothes strewn on the floor, no projects in mid build, and where were the pile of cups ? Going over the wardrobe (things were hung up- weird?) she found her uniform- Starfleet blue with one pip - how familiar, for five years ago before she transferred to engineering.

So, where, ore even when was She ? El thought.

After getting herself organised and caffeinated (definitely her ship, the replicator had all the Diari blends programmed, plus a few new ones) she ventured out for a wander round the ship.

Coming across a display, she found out it was a Nova Class, USS Feynman. Hang on, she knew that ship. It's her friend Jon's, he was doing a deep space survey of the Beta Quadrant. How'd she end up on it?

The ship was abnormally quiet, she hadn't seen anyone while walking around, even the bridge was empty when she got there, with all the consoles powered down.

She went over to the tactical console, and it sprung to life as soon as she touched it. Elen brought up the external sensors, which showed an encampment outside and more lifesigns than she could count, most of them labelled with very familiar names, names of people she'd worked with on previous assignments.

"Computer, can you transport me outside ?" she asked the room, being too lazy to go out an airlock.

"Sure, El. hold on" the computer replied, a bit more chipper than a standard computer voice- probably a Taran modification she thought, knowing the Trill computer expert whose name had come up on screen.

Once the transporter had cycled, Elen found herself outside, standing next to conference table which had padds, papers and the everyday detritus of a mission, and various people milling around.

"Oh. look who it is. Afternoon, missus. Planning to do some work today ?" A voice complained from a deckchair. "Oh, and who you trying to impress, wearing a proper uniform ?"

She looked over, it was Jamie, a marine she knew from her time at Spacedock, wearing a horribly clashing Hawaiian shirt and camouflage trousers.

"Well, better than dressing in the dark, Fletcher" She replied. They had been friends for years, it wouldn't be right if they weren't throwing insults at each other.

"That's Commander Fletcher, Ensign." He mocked, sticking his tongue out.

"Very funny Jamie, you'd never take a commission, let alone a command role, too much like responsibility."

"But Mom, he is Commander Fletcher, and why are you in my uniform ?" A young blonde woman asked, coming over from a tent.

Mom ? El thought, then things started to get all spinny and black.
