Mission: Episode 15 - The Evil That Lies Beneath
Location: The Snake Pit - Deck 9 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD006 1300 hrs

Merrick sipped at his cup of tea, disregarding the fact that it was cooling down rather quickly. He looked at Lachlan, "Well it is time, lets hope someone contacts us from the Paranormal Unit, pretty soon." then took a sip.

The message that was sent requesting contact with both himself and Barr.

"Agreed." Lachlan replied. "I don't think we have time on our side here."

Rowena Mazumdar was going through the office she just recently got. She was the new head of the Paranormal Unit. And somehow it was sheer luck she got this. So many things were happening and she needed a starting point to clean things up. When her computer chirped. "Captain Mazumdar, you have a communique from the science council at Poseidon Station regarding a USS Pioneer."

Mazumdar sat down. "Put it through." It was a message from Marine Captain Merrick and a Sergeant Major Barr. Her eyes grew when she heard the message. She hit the keyboard on her desk. "Computer, give me a secure link with the USS Pioneer right now." She turned to the screen. "USS Pioneer, this is Captain Rowena Mazumdar from the Paranormal unit. I request to speak with Captain Merrick and or Sergeant Major Barr. Please respond!"

The viewscreen lit up and showed Merrick and Lachlan there.

"I'm Captain Merrick and this is Sergeant Major Barr. " gesturing with one hand towards Barr. He took in the woman who was on the other side of the screen. "We are hoping that you can help us with just a wee bit of a problem"

Mazumdar sighed. "You don't have to pamper me, Merrick, I have seen things that would turn your stomach for sure. You do not have a wee problem. You have a huge problem. I will get on my shuttle right away. Listen, closely. Don't trust Commander McGowen or Commodore..." She looked to another screen. ...Malbrooke. They have been compromised and let me guess your first officer and your senior staff have disappeared?"

Merrick raised an eyebrow at this, "I am not pampering you on this, just stated it how I saw fit. They are disappearing, or have disappeared already. Malbrooke isn't himself and as for McGowan I've not been able to contact her. She's been a bit elusive. As you said we have a big problem, and what can you do about it? Are you someone who can perform an exorcism?"

"Woah! Let's hold the holy rollers stuff. I'm all for helping get whatever entity is in them out but I won't go as far as to believe we need to be throwing holy water on them, showing them a cross and shouting Latin at them." Lachlan commented with a slight frown, he wasn't a very religious man at all.

Edmund just shook his head. "I don't know how exorcism works in this day and age. It is something that Rowena had said a little bit ago before everything went haywire. Just a solution or information as to how to get the entities out of both of them. "raising his hands in spread gesture. "Definitely need something to save them and our ship." he looked over towards Mazumdar. "How soon can you get here?"

"Can I not just shoot them?" Lachlan asked as Merrick arched a brow. "Like a little stun setting, nothing that'll singe their hair."

"I will leave immediately. I will have to catch up with you, as you already left station. I will do my best, but at best I could be here in a day or so. Try to hold on. And keep a hold on your chief of the boat. These entities are non corporeal. You will just hurt your crewmen. And to answer your next question. Your catholic exorcism is not gonna work. The universe is a complex thing. The rules always change in space. Paranormal investigations is now an actual science. It's no longer as spiritual as in the past. But where a phaser won't work, there are scientific methods that can. And what ever you do, do not return to the station or join another Starfleet station. The entities might escape. Also don't let them know anything of this. If they get suspicious I don't know how they will react but it won't be good that's for sure."

"First off, Sergeant Major Lachlan Barr is in command of the ship. I can understand his desire to shoot those who are being possessed. If we shoot and stun them, does this mean the entity will leap into someone else as in they escape this way? Hopefully you have a rather fast ship to catch up to us, currently we are at the Acorn Nebula, we'll be waiting for you. You can fill us in when you get here."

"I'm not actually going to shoot them unless I have to." Lachlan smirked out of the eyeline of both Merrick and Mazumdar. "We'll find a way to contain them without tipping them off, that being the entity's and not our people. Hopefully by the time you arrive we'll have something in motion."

"Understood, I will have to leave now. I will see you soon. Mazumdar out." She closed the frequency and left her stuff on her desk to get herself to the Pioneer.
