Last Time on Late Night Wanderlust Part I

"Well then I guess we have dessert plans." he smirked a boyish smirk.

"Then it is agreed." Cara giving a warm chuckle.

"Now that dessert has been planned, they do serve a great ribeye with all of the trimmings and side dishes. The meat is real, the rolls are freshly baked and the bourbon is divine besides the whisky. Everything prepared here is not replicated. It is nice when people have connections in order to get supplies to prepare great tasting food." Cara realized that she was sounding like an advertisement for the Admiral on Deck but she loved the place, and it just felt like a home.

And Now For The Conclusion...

"You're not on commission here, are you?" Lachlan joked with a boyish grin. "I tell you what, you order and I'll enjoy the company and the scenery." this time his eyes smiled as he did not remove them from Cara for one second. Even when there was a smashing behind them of a dropped glass his gaze never waivered.

A tint of pink suffused her cheeks, as Cara was enjoying the attention of the charming Lachlan. His eyes of blue captured her dark eyes, she could feel herself being pulled in, almost becoming lost in them. The shattering of a glass did cause her to blink and she realized that she wanted something to eat and Lachlan had suggested that she do the ordering. Loathe to break eye contact Cara gave out a sigh, and did break eye contact. She turned and ordered their dinner, both medium rare steaks, with the trimmings and the sides. She also ordered a whisky stone for Lachlan's drink and one for herself. Plus a bottle of bourbon and a bottle of scotch. She needed to replenish her supply.

After giving the food order, Cara turned to Lachlan. "Shall we head to the corner table and await our food?" reaching out a hand towards Lachlan. "lead me on." she said with a playful wink.

"Sounds good, yeah. Lead the way." Lachlan gestured his hand forward. "Ladies first." he was nothing if not chivalrous. "So how do you go from the most beautiful barmaid to the most enchanting and jaw dropping XO of Poseidon? Or am I diving too deep into personal business?" he hinted she didn't have to answer him if she chose not to.

"I am a woman of many layers, like an onion." Cara giving out a light laugh and a teasing twinkle in her eyes. "I can let you take a look beneath a few layers. Just not here." a sultry smile appearing. "We eat and I can tell you a little bit. If you truly want to hear about a troublemaker." walking over to the table in the corner. "This is much better to be honest." placing the glasses and the bottles upon the table before she sat down, and adjusted the skirt of her red dress. She waited until Lachaln took a seat. "Which do you want to start with, whisky or the bourbon?"

"Is that a real question you are asking a Scotsman?" Lachlan looked at her with a smirk when she asked about whether anything other than whisky. He took his seat, just a little gap between them so he could be close to her and she began to pour. "And I'm always interested in hearing about troublemakers." he leaned in. "They do make for the most interesting storytellers."

The whisky stones which were cold, had made a little bit of a clink in the glasses, but were soon covered with whisky. "Oh truth be told I am always an innocent woman. Never one to get into trouble, oh no not at all. Unless you count for kissing an XO just to make an Orion woman to possibly express her love for the XO. That was quite the fight, I think she was determined to kill me out of jealousy. That was when I was just an lieutenant junior grade, brand new counselor upon a rather interesting ship. I even got cut by his epee, right about here." pausing her pouring to gesture towards her stomach. She resumed filling the glasses then closed the bottle up. "I've not gotten the scar removed as of yet."

"Ah, I met a woman once who was always innocent. Long story short she's in a penal colony for the next 12 years for a number of offenses." Lachlan chuckled to himself as he sook a sip of his whisky. Damn it was good! "Tell me though, do you usually go around kissing superiors to get into fights with Orions? I mean I'm all for a good scuffle... and have many scars to prove it." he smirked.

A peal of musical laughter came from Cara at his remark. "Well I can't really say I am always an innocent bystander, and as for your question, I do not make it a habit of kissing superiors to get into a fight. Especially with an Orion woman. Orions can be rather mean in their fighting skills. " Cara grinned. "I'm no slouch either. I just don't go out of my way to get into a fight. " she lifted up her glass and took a drink of the whisky, closing her eyes as she enjoyed the flavor. There were good memories she has had with this very drink. She opened her eyes and gave Lachlan a wink.

"Good drink, Good company and-" she was cut off when another voice could be heard.

"And good food, can be added to that." said the server who had just brought over their meals. The woman placed the food in front of both Cara and Lachlan, then she looked at Cara.

"Will you be returning to work here sometime?" she asked, her name being Maria, she brushed back a lock of blonde hair when she glanced towards Lachlan. Maria turned her attention back to Cara.

"I may do so soon enough." Cara replied, "And thank you for bringing the food. And it looks and smells just as good as always."

Maria gave a smile.

"Can't argue with perfection." Lachlan said in an open ended way as he looked at both Cara and Maria. His comment was in no way about the food as the light in his eyes sparkled between the two lovely ladies. "Literally good enough to eat." his eyes resting on Cara.

Cara's cheeks went warm, her eyes lowering for a moment peeking up through her long dark eyelashes towards Lachlan.

Maria gave out a little chuckle, she couldn't help it, at the way Lachlan had looked at her, her own cheeks flushing a light pink. "Well.. I will be going now, and enjoy." She turning to go, bumping into a chair of a nearby table. This made her blush even more, sort of mortified at being slightly clumsy.

Cara watched with interest at the reaction of Maria, with an amused smile, then she turned her gaze back to Lachlan, her voice low and husky, "You certainly have quite the effect on ladies don't you." giving a sultry wink. She took a drink of the whiskey, and set to work on her meal.

Lachlan smirked triumphantly at Maria's reaction. It was almost like he felt he had won something but still he had that reaction when he turned on the charm with most women, something he never shied away from.

"Only the women of good taste." Lachlan replied to Cara. He watched for a moment as she ate and got lost in how she moved, how graceful she was in everything she had done so far. He too started his meal and enjoyed the company.

Wholly enjoying her food, as well as Lachlan's company, Cara didn't feel compelled to keep up a conversational dialogue. There were nuances and flirtations that can be done just by looks and appreciative smiles. Brushing of fingers when reaching out, a lingering gaze upon lips or even eyes, the memorizing of the jawline. Those eyes of Lachlan's a beautiful shade of blue, Cara could feel herself being drawn into them.

Cara blinked and gave a little bit of a start when she heard the voice of Maria, asking a question. What was it.. something about dessert?

"What was that Maria?" Cara questioned.

"Would you like dessert?" Maria asked.

Cara looked down at her plate and realized she had finished her meal. "Ah..." she looked at Lachlan, then back to Maria. "Maybe a slice of lemon meringue."

"Oh no thanks love. I've got my dessert sitting there in that dress." he smirked at Cara. "I mean unless you'd want to bring some toppings..." his eyebrows flickered. "I can do a lot with whipped cream and sprinkles." he added suggestively.

His comment elicited a fetching color of pink in Cara's cheeks, "Maria strike the lemon meringue pie. I shall bid you a good evening, and my compliments to the chef." finishing up her whisky. She barely tore her gaze from Lachlan to look at Maria. "Faux can send me the bill, and it will be taken care of along with a nice tip for you." It was something that she had set up with the owner of Admiral on Deck. Her long time friend. Cara always paid her bills.

"Shall we?" Cara then stated to Lachlan, rising from her seat effortlessly, and picking up the now closed bottle of whiskey and the unopened bourbon to take with her, placing the bottles in the bag that Maria had brought over.

Maria had a look of wistfulness in hearing and seeing the attentiveness the charming Lachlan had for Cara. Oh if the dark haired woman would be willing to exchange places with her. It wasn't to be though. She watched Cara take Lachlan's hand in her own and the two of them left the restaurant.

Cara's Quarters
================
As soon as they arrived inside Cara's quarters, she immediately slid out of her shoes placing them in their respective spot. Then said "Welcome to my humble abode." looking at Lachlan with a smile.

Cara's quarters, now that she had taken the time to decorate it, was very comfortable. The carpeting was a dark grey, nice soft luxuriant. One that invited a person to just take their shoes off. The sofa she had was dark green, in color went against a wall, it sat beneath the view port which looked out towards the stars. There was a wall with the image of a man who had a resemblance to Cara. It was that of her older brother Elias, and beneath the image was small garden box which held miniature roses bushes. And next to those was a small shelf which held her garden tools. Near the kitchen area was her collection of alcohol, wines and other various brands.

There was a stove, and a small table and a fridge and beyond that was her bedroom area along with her bathroom, which had a tub as well as a shower. The walls were colored a muted dove grey. With the wall sporting the two paintings she had purchased from Mrs Moreau's art gallery. One was that of a village and the other was a mysterious gate way.

"Nothing humble about it." Lachlan was almost as much in awe of the quarters as he was with her, almost. It was definitely more luxurious than his on the Pioneer but truthfully he'd never put much in the creature comforts than most officers did. He was usually quite happy just to have a bed to lie in and somewhere to stow his gear.

His eyes drifted to Cara as she was not out of her dress. He quickly threw his shoes at the door , threw his jacket off, and swept her up in his powerful arms as the shirt he was wearing did everything for his figure. He kissed her passionately and then as their lips parted and foreheads touched he whispered, "I might need some help with the buttons." he hinted playfully at his shirt.

"And I have a zipper that I need help with." A soft laugh from Cara, as buttons were being undone. It seemed though that it didn't take long for the last vestiges of clothing being removed and the lights were turned down low. Another kiss and a tug of the hand towards the bedchamber and a smile of invitation.
