Last Time on Vacation Trip

By the 5th day, they entered the Bajoran system. Transmitting their verification codes, they were allowed to dock at DS9.

Dressed in civilian clothes, they passed through security, handing over their ID's.

And Now The Conclusion...

When they woke up the next day, Lyna and Paul had breakfast in their quarters. Today the plan was to walk along the promenade and look at the shops.

They stepped off the turbolift on the promenade and started slowly walking. They looked at the shops and the booths. Several things caught Lyna's eye, but she didn't buy anything.

They walked past Quarks, the station's gambling establishment. They took a table and ordered two drinks. The custom is that new people get one free spin of the Dado wheel. From their table they could see the game. They watched people winning, and people losing. The game seemed simple enough, but Paul knew that the odds favor the house. When they finished their drinks, they walked over, and used their free spins. Paul told Lyna how to bet with her free spin. They both won, a small payout since their spin was free. Paul took their winnings, played another spin and won, this time the odds were in their favor, and he won 8 strips of lathium. He split a bet and won again. Quark started coming over and offered a free drink and free use of a holosuite, just to get him away from the table.

By the time he was finished, he won 125 strips of lathium. Quark kindly gave him a bag to carry his windfall.

He took their winnings and left the bar.

They went back to the shops where Lyna saw some nice clothes, or jewelry or something. He paid for her things with the lathium.

Happy with their purchases, they continued walking along the promenade until they came to the Bajoran Temple. Lyna wanted to go in. Paul went with her. There was no one there, so they looked around until one of the Monks arrived. The three of them had a nice chat. Paul gave the monk half of what he had left, as an offering. The monk was thankful.

They left the temple, returned to their quarters, grabbed they luggage and headed to their runabout.

It was time they went to Bajor.

They entered orbit of Bajor.

They beamed down and arrived at Lyna's parents' house. When her parents opened the door and saw them, they rushed towards them, hugged and kissed the both of them.

Food was placed out, and they sat for the midday meal.

Paul and Lyna spent the night there, in separate rooms as per her mother's request, still Lyna snuck to his room and the spent the night together.

The next morning, they had breakfast, and when they were done, it was time to leave, there was so much to see yet.

They beamed back to the runabout.

When they decided where to go next, they beamed down to a large city. Many buildings were still being rebuilt, after the occupation, but a large temple, which sat in the center of town, was open. They saw statues, tapestries, paintings. All in all, it was a beautiful building.

When they left, they started walking down a random road, which led out of town. They almost decided to turn around, when they saw a school building. When they entered the school building turned out to be an orphanage. Paul had remembered hearing the stories of the half Cardasssian children that were left behind after the Cardassians withdrew from Bajor, but when Cardassian prime was almost destroyed by the Jem Hadar, the Cardassians returned to claim all the children.

Still there were Bajorian orphans still there.

Paul and Lyna sat on a bench and watched the children play. There were all ages and sex.

They sat there for hours.

When the children were called to enter the school, Paul and Lyna were allowed to follow. They walked down hallways after hallways.

In one room, the youngest children were gathered. They walked in and sat down. One young child, a girl, came over to Lyna and wanted to be held. Lyna picked her up and held her.

Lyna looked at Paul, with tears in her eyes.

Lyna was about to say something, but Paul stopped her.

"If that's what you want, then we'll do it." Paul said to her.

They walked to the person in charge and filled out forms to adopt the little girl.

The next day, they went back to the orphanage and picked up their daughter.

She had no name.

Her name is now Anegn Michael.
