| Personal History | Lyna was born on stardate 2373. The daughter of Auba Triessa, a Bajoran who worked as a Dabo Girl and a Pleasure Worker. Her biological father was a human who paid Triessa for "services". When Triessa became pregnant, when it was time to deliver, she had her daughter in a back room of the bar, and then the girl, she named Lyna, was taken to an orphanage to live. Being half Bajoran half Terran, she was bullied at the orphanage. This led to her angry issues. Lyna stayed at the orphanage until the age of 5. Her mother, no longer working at the bar, had married a farmer who lived and farmed in one of the providences on Bajor. Lyna's stepfather treated her and her mother fine, but when she turned 12, he entered Lyna's bedroom, covered her mouth and took her clothes off. He climbed on top of her to rape her, but Lyna grabbed a trowel that was sitting on her bed side table, and stabbed him. She stabbed him 6 times, in his back, then another 6 times in his chest. When her mother discovered what had happened, the authorities arrived and took Lyna into custody on a charge of murder. A magistrate heard the charges, and after talking to Lyna, dismissed the charges, ruling it was self defense. When she returned home, her mother had her clothes packed and ordered her to leave, saying that she brought shame upon the family. Lyna's choices were to work as a sex slave, or live on the streets...she choose the streets. She ran away to a neighboring providence where no one had heard of her. And she was found by a kindly couple, who had 3 children of their own, who brought her to their home. They raised her as one of their own, and Lyna continued her education. The family knew a Bajoran officer who befriended her and when she saw her potential, sponsored Lyna for Starfleet Academy. |
