Last Time on Getting Lost Part III

Stefan gave a nod as he listened, "Ah the colony life. I used to live in a colony, my aunt made certain that we were a useful part of the colony life. Where did you move to, after you left Mars?" he was attentive to what Kaylara was talking about, honestly interested in hearing about her.

"Pallas IV. It's a medium-sized colony with an active spaceport--and not much trouble. That's what my parents wanted. And, considering how things turned out on Mars, it was a good choice." She shrugged. "It gave me the opportunity to learn new skills. I worked on a merchant ship for a while, then did security on the colony before I decided to move on to other things, which ended up being Starfleet.

And Now The Continuation...

"I hope it has been rewarding for you." Stefan replied. "It sounds like you are the only child in your family, or am I just assuming that." he wondered. "Do you have siblings? or connected with cousins that you know of?"

"As good as. I have a brother, but he's 12 years older than I am and moved out as soon as he could. My parents talk to him from time to time, but we were never close. I don't know about cousins. Probably. Somewhere." She shrugged. She had vague memories of her grandparents, but they refused to leave Mars and died while she was still young. "Most of the family scattered when we left Mars."

"That is a shame that happened." Stefan answered quietly. "Have you adopted people as a family? Anyone that you consider a brother or sister, makeshift family?" he was remembering the somewhat family he had been a part of, on that colony before he and his siblings decided they were going to join Star Fleet.

"Not really. I've always been a bit of a loner." She wasn't sure why she was telling him all this. She rarely talked about herself or her family. Then again, she wasn't sure--or didn't want to acknowledge--why she was talking to him at all right now. Or why she couldn't stop thinking about him. "I was happy enough."

Stefan tilted his head slightly as he regarded Kaylara for a moment or two. "You know something, before your shoreleave is over. Why not talk to T'ra and get to know her. She's our Assistant Chief of Intelligence, a mighty fine one at that. And there is Commander Aer Feshau, she is our Chief of Intelligence." he didn't go any further on the subject of Aer, except for, "She was the one at the bar getting a drink as well."

Stefan was liking Kaylara even more. She had no problem in telling him how things were, he felt a bit freer due to that. It really raised his interest in Kaylara even more. He would like to get to know her better, but she was going to be leaving after shoreleave was over.

"T'ra said hi before I left, but I wasn't really in the mood to talk then," Kaylara admitted. "Maybe I could meet her later, but I don't want to go back there right now." Not after the way everyone noticed her argument with Stefan. "I plan to stay here for the night."

Stefan nodded, "You've got these quarters until shoreleave is done. It’s been taken care of. Now, there are some questions for you, would you mind if I spend some time with you? Could that be worked out? I really would like to do so, and this maybe too soon, for this request. I am feeling a bit, over my head on this one and truly don't know how to proceed besides saying I really like you."

She looked in his eyes, reading his sincerity and nodded. "I...haven't been able to stop thinking of you and I would like to spend my shore leave here." Even though she'd tried, she couldn't walk away from him. "I'm not good at this, either, but I'm willing to see where it goes."

This time Stefan dared to come close to Kaylara, wrapping his arms about her. "I too am willing to see where this goes." For the first time in however long it has been for him, Stefan could feel a moment of peace of mind and soul, descend upon him. Everything that had been bothering him and spinning through his mind just faded away, into the background just being here.

She tensed for a moment, then let herself relax and accept that she was safe here. She wrapped her arms around him and buried her face against his shoulder. After the chaos of the past few days, this was an unexpected haven.

Kaylara leaned back and looked up at him for a long moment, still taking it all in. "I'm not sure I want to run into anyone from either intel department tonight. Maybe we should stay here? Or do you have anything else in mind?"

"Well, we could stay here and maybe run the risk of someone coming to check in on us or... we can steal away down to Aquil and spend the night there, just to have a change of scenery." a playful smile dancing on his lips. "To be quite frank I don't want to talk to anyone from either departments currently. And I do want to avoid that marine, Captain Merrick I think is his name. He was not happy with me either." Stefan giving a grimace.

"Would you like to do that?" Stefan smiling, as he looked into Kaylara's eyes. "I'm game if you are."

"Aquil?" She'd heard of it, but nothing more. "If you think we won't see anyone we know, sure."

"I think that it would be less likely we'd run into anyone from here that we'd know of. Just to totally unwind, It is tropical by nature, can be muggy and warm but to me having that natural sensation of walking on sand in its natural form for a small moment in time would be lovely." Stefan smiling.

Kaylara looked down at her leather miniskirt and silk top. "I should change, then. I don't think leather and beaches go well together." Sadly, black wasn't the best color for beaches. Red would work, though. Shorts, tank top and overshirt. Maybe sandals... She looked over at Stefan, a wicked twinkle in her eye. "You could come with me and change, too."

He placed a finger under Kaylara's chin lifting it upwards giving her a gentle kiss. "And I accept." he whispered softly against her lips. "Where would you like to go?" pulling his lips away a little bit more, to gaze into her eyes once more.

She stood there for a minute, looking at him. "This is your home. I'll let you decide."

Stefan was thinking about where they could go to get a change clothing, when a thought passed through his mind. "We could actually look to find some clothing we would like to wear and program it to deliver it via the replicator there." pointing nodding towards the one nearby. "Makes it simple, convenient. And less likely for us to run into anyone we may know."

She nodded. "All right. I probably shouldn't wear my usual dress if we're trying to be unnoticed." She liked to stand out and be seen, which was one of the reasons she liked goth.

Stefan got a very impish grin. "This will be our own undercover operation. We dress to fit the 'mission' we are undertaking. To enjoy shoreleave without being found out and dragged back to get into a conversation. Actually, adds even more spice to this how often does one utilize skills to, avoid any possible conversations we do not want to experience."

"We're intel. We're supposed to be trained to not stand out." She wasn't so sure she wanted to forego her goth persona. Well, not completely.

Catching a glimpse of some minute hesitation on Kaylara's body language and also having caught her comment of not wearing her usual style of clothing. "Tis true, and this is your shoreleave so. Do we really need to hide what we'd like to do on Aquil? Hide who we are, or truly give up how we want to look? Kaylara, there will be other people who will be there who won't know us from anyone else. Pick a swimsuit, an outfit that you want to wear. Let’s live a little, toss caution to the wind for now, as we will be on a planet. Fun in the sun, would make things exciting as well, the thrill of the possibility of being caught. It will also be a strategic plan as there would be more places to just, fade away into the background if needed."

"I generally wear leather, and I still don't think it the most appropriate for a beach. As long as we get off the station without running into anyone from either intel department, we should be safe enough. I'm not sure what to wear on that planet of yours if not leather--and no, I don't fancy a leather bikini." Not on a beach, anyway. Unless it was the holodeck and the temperature was moderate. She shook her head and grinned at her own thoughts.

"It is very true that wearing leather on the beach, isn't good but there are swimsuits out there that can get people's attention, make you stand out. And you can go with your Goth style of wear. He pulled out his padd and typed in Goth Style swimsuits. Two came up, one was a two piece bikini black, with lace skirt over the lower part of the swim suit, the lace pattern having skulls upon it. Another one was called The Louisa Lace Swimsuit.

Taken from an actual advertisement.

This stunning, gothic one-piece bathing suit in black lace is giving us roaring twenties flapper vibes!

Built around a basic black bikini silhouette, ornately patterned sheer panels provide some coverage and two flattering black lace pieces drape down over your hips for added drama!

A beautiful swim suit to make you the envy of the beach goths!

"If I may suggest either one of these, though personally, the last one I think would look great on you." Stefan giving a smile.
