Mission: Episode 7 - Home Again
Location: Holodeck 1 - Deck 5 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD004 2000 hrs

Tyler was excited, he had never run this program before and hoped that it worked. He donned an older style uniform, one that did not have the cargo pockets. His was also operations gold, with lieutenant's pips on the collar. It had been some time since Tyler was dressed like this. But now he was on his way to join her crew, Janeway's crew.

Tyler jogged from the turbolift to the doors of the holodeck. "Hey Sof you ready for this? You know who you are supposed to be right?"

"I am wearing teal so science or medical." She stated, "My guess would be science as you messaged me something about Naomi Wildman. I don't know much about her sir I'll admit apart from she's Human and was the science officer on board. My first pip." she said pulling at her collar.

"Yes you are Ensign Samantha Wildman, originally the Astrometrics Officer and later made the Chief Science Officer. I will be portraying Lieutenant Timothy Hogan a Maquis Engineer. Other than that I do not know which of Captain Janeway's logs the computer is going to put us into." Tyler responded with a smile. "Oh and congrats on the promotion..."

"Oh." she blushed at her mistake. "I read ahead on the information you sent me. It was late and I was tired but thank you. Didn't take me as long as I thought." she giggled. "So it's a kind of pot luck when we go in?"

"Yup..." Tyler paused as he was inputting the final data for the holoprogram. He started laughing a little uncontrollably. "Ummmm Sofia I do not how to put this. But it seems that the computer is telling me that it is going to make you pregnant when the program starts. It seems that Ensign Wildman was nine months pregnant when this log was filed. It is going to be stardate 49655.2. So that would be about one year after Voyager's disappearance."

As they had stepped into the archway of the program Sofia watched the Captain input data as he began to laugh. When she heard what he said she felt a weight around her stomach as a large extension appeared. "Does it really need to be that realistic?" She half joked. "I mean I don't even have a boyfriend sir..."

Tyler didn't realize she was joking at first and began to respond. "Perhaps not but Samantha had a husband, a Katarian served aboard DS9 I think. Anyway here we go, remember I am Lieutenant Hogan not Captain." He chuckled "Computer is the program Reliving The Past Ready?" The computer chirped and whirred for a moment and then spoke. "The program is active, and running within normal parameters. Enter when ready."

"After you Tyler said..."

"Yeah, need to let pregnant women go in first Ca-Lieutenant. Oh and you look weird in yellow, just saying that now." she said kind of waddling in. The added weight made her tired already and the realism that holodecks now offered went beyond what they used too. Sofia had never been pregnant but she sure as hell thought this would be a close approximation.

As they stepped into holodeck there was a tableau frozen in time as it were. They were in the transporter room of the starship Voyager. The transporter was in mid transport and it looked like two people were coming aboard. Ensign Harry Kim was operating the transporter and Captain Janeway stood front and center. Tyler made his way in and marvelled at it all, how young Harry looked in comparison to when Tyler had met him. "Well we can't begin until we figure out where we are supposed to be. What do you make of it?"

"Must be something more serious if the Captain and Kim are here." Sofia offered looking around the room. "So transporter room... if I'm astrometrics/science then I don't know if this would be the place for me to waddle into? I don't know what you do..."

Tyler walked toward the transporter pad and around Captain Janeway. "Excuse me Captain..." he said with a smile as he looked her in the eye for a moment. When he stepped onto the pad he saw that one of the materializing figures was holding a sample case. "Wait this person has a sample case. What if you are here as the Chief Science Officer? There could be something that was needed and you were here to receive the samples. But then why would I be here, and not Torres?"

Sofia nodded, "That would make sense as a science officer, I wonder what the samples are?" she asked herself as she moved around Janeway to get a closer look. "She's taller than I remember." she commented before realising that Tyler had spoken. "Maybe Torres is busy? Although I have to say that I'm not much of a transporter specialist but that doesn't look like a normal beam in to me." She said pointing to the soon to materialize figure.

Tyler jogged over to the transporter console and took a look over Harry's shoulder. A quick snap of the fingers and Sofia's comment put everything into perspective. "Yes of course Sofia you hit on it. Look here Commander Tuvok and Neelix are beaming aboard. But something is going wrong with the transporter beam."

She arched her brow a little and cocked her head, subconsciously she was also rubbing her now extended stomach. "I remember hearing of a story where there was an accident. A transporter beam merged with another to form one. To make... Tuvix!" she yelled realizing through her own deduction what was going on.

Tyler laughed "I read that log. One of the toughest decisions a Captain would ever have to make in my opinion. Well now that we know what event the computer has selected. Let us to it. You stand just there, and I will be next to Kim." Tyler pointed to where Sofia should be. Once she was in position he smiled. "Computer begin program..."

Instantly and all at once the tableau came to life. The transporter swirled, Kim worked feverishly at the controls. "Report!" Janeway shouted over the din. "Not sure what is going on. I am working on it. Hogan check the pattern buffers. It seems that the transporter is not reading two patterns." Kim replied.

"Aye sir. I'm on it..." Tyler replied playing his part. He looked in on the buffers and saw that the patterns were merging. "It seems that the transporter is merging the patterns. We can place them in transporter stasis until we figure this out. It would take an adjustment to the transporter buffers. It is an old Maquis trick..." Tyler smirked old Maquis trick his foot. It was something Montgomery Scott did to survive.

"I don't think you have time for that." Sofia said. She hadn't intended on putting herself out there just yet, the figure of Janeway before her kind of made her nervous but she noticed that the transport was nearing completion. Captain Janeway looked at her, obviously seeing her as Wildman but nodded to her all the same as her conclusion was that also.

Earning brownie points with the Captain already. Just like on the Pioneer. Tyler thought. "Other then the possibility of transport stasis we have nothing. It is too late in the transport, if we abort they will both die. Captain we have to complete the transport and see what happens. If not they both die, and if you hold them like this the patterns will degrade and we will lose them." Tyler went to the transporter console and stopped short of pushing Harry out of the way in true Maquis fashion.

"Get them on the pad alive Ensign." Janway spoke over her shoulder. "Yes ma'am working on it. Hogan divert additional power to the Heisenberg Compensators." Tyler nodded and did as he was told.

Sofia watched with an unwavering gaze. Even though she knew what was going to happen it was still a thrill to be a part of it, to see Tuvix materialise. "It looks like it's working." She said.

"Steady Hogan steady... We are getting them." Harry said with a smile but the happiness was short lived as Tyler read his screen. "The pattern buffers... Something is wrong the patterns are merging. Instead of two people we are getting one." Tyler was trying to seperate the streams as he spoke but it was not working.

"We will send them back to the planet, reset the buffers and try again Captain." Harry called out as he set to work on that task. "No you will kill them both... It is too late in the transport process. If you send them back now you will lose their patterns. We have to materilize them or er him." As Tyler finished speaking the transporter effect completed. Everyone looked at the being on the transporter pad stunned. He was a perfect amalgam of Tuvok and Neelix. Tuvok's skin tone and ears and Neelix's hair and spots. "Is something wrong Captain?" it said.

Tyler was amazed and reeled to be here in this moment was something that he could truly cherish.

Sofia's mouth just dropped as the form materialised in front of them with little realisation of what had just happened or that they were a joint entity. "This is amazing." she said after the initial shock wore off. "Even the uniform has merged..."

Janeway tapped her comm badge. "Janeway to Sick Bay, Doctor stand by to receive a patient. Hogan please escort him to Sick Bay." She turned to face Sofia. "Ensign report to Sick Bay see if you can help the Doctor figure out what happened here. Harry I want a complete diagnostic on the transporter." The orders were issued and just as quickly the Captain was gone.

Tyler approached the being. "Sir right this way." "What is happening?" Tuvix said. Tyler replied softly "I think it best for the Doctor to explain. Let's get to Sick Bay."

Sofia rubbed the arm of Tuvix in an attempt to reassure him everything was alright. "It will be alright sir. We are just going to get a check up and I know The Doctor will have some answers for us." She gave a smile for comfort and followed them out the room, down the corridor and into the turbolift and en route to Sickbay.
