Mission:
Episode 14 - The Poseidon Adventure
Location: Astrometrics - Deck 8 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD002 0900 hrs
Mr Tumnus has found a new place on this fast an great world. It's very beautiful, something he'd never seen before. So many beautiful lights. She thought she heart someone calling it the map to the stars. He never seen the stars before like this, he had seen them from the windows sometimes, but not as impressive as this.
He was walking around the pretty lights when he stumbled upon someone. It was a two legs, but somehow different. Aside from the normal colored fur all the two legs wore, this one had also an all body covered with fur. And a beautiful tail, of course not as beautiful as his, but still, he never seen a two legs with hairy fur and furry tail like his before. Perhaps he could speak with this two legs.
He sat down and looked up at the two legs. Hello, I am Tumnus. Are you a friend? He carefully relayed. He then got up gently curling up his tail in a greeting.
Hello Tumnus, its nice to meet you. I'm Selorina, and yes I'm a friend. The Caitain said. Did you need something, or are you just visiting? She asked.
Oh wow, I finally can talk to a two legs. And I am here to visit. I heard this was a beautiful place and it is. I have seen stars before from a window in the leaders room. I have been visiting him a lot. He gave me this. He proudly showed the collar with writing on it, which stated his name and position. But this is so much better than what I saw from the window. The lights are so pretty. He reached his paw and tried to catch the lights. You must play a lot here.
Well, then let me show you around. She said. This is the constellations of star system we're travelling through." She added pointing tho the screen. And this is what you see if you look into the night sky on my world. She said tapping on a nearby console. I used to stare up into every night when I was a kittling. She told him.
Tumnus' eyes were glistening of the reflecting star lights. Wow that is so beautiful. Wait? Your home world? I thought this was your home world. Just like the other two legs. He tilted his head a little confused.
This is our home, but we were all born elsewhere. Selorina explained. My homeworld is called Cait, and all the 'two legs' look like me, or you. She said. The Captain, our leader on this ship, is from Earth. The 'two legs' there lack tails and claws, and their teeth are dulled
Tumnus was really fascinated by this bit of information. He never knew this world, this space, was so much bigger than their home world. I wasn't born here either, I was from a different world too. My family is not here. So I think they remained. Do you think you can find my homeworld?
Selorina thought for a while. She'd heard that Mr. Tumnus had come aboard when the Pioneer was last at the fleet yards of Utopia Plantia. They were in a staple orbit around Mars. Yes. she said and brought up the constellations as seen from Mars. There you are the night sky as seen from Mars. I believe that is your homeworld. She said.
Tumnus eyes seem to glisten at the sight. He had never seen it before. He didn't remember much of his home world.It is beautiful He softly purred. You do know everything about the start, don't you?
Yes, it is beautiful. If you mean the universe, we know some things and have some ideas about how it started.
I meant stars, sorry, words you use, I understand them yet. I wish i could talk to the others like I could talk to you know. Softly purring Tumnus rubbed against Selorina. Shall we have dinner now?
Selorina smiled. My aren't you forward, but sure, what would you like? She asked.
Tumnus tilted his head. I am not sure what you mean with forward, I am just hungry. He looked around if he could see a little window in the wall here. The other two legs always give me meals from a window in the wall. I think they said my favorite is called tuna.
Selorina laughed at her misinterpretation. Yes, tuna is nice. She agreed. I believe what you're looking for is the replicator, there's one in my office, follow me. She said leading him into a small room with a desk, a chair and replicator in the far wall.
Tumnus jumped on her chair and then her desk. Yes this is the perfect place for food, you can put it here. He nodded his head towards the table and waited in anticipation for the feline two legs to bring him food.
"Replicator, two servings of tuna, steamed." Selorina said.
Moments later the meals appeared.
Careful, its still warm. The Caitian warned as she placed the plate in front of Tumnus.
Sitting down at the table, placing her own meal in front of her. Not bothering with utensils, she tore the fish apart with her fingers and placed it in her mouth. "Umm." She said as the food melted on her tongue.
Carefully Tumnus smelled the fish. This was something new, but it did smell like the tuna, but somehow it was different. More pure. Once he assured himself that this was the good stuff. and also seeing his new friend really devour it, he he put his front paws on the food. He pulled back as he could feel it was warm. He used his claws to to pull it in to pieces. He took little pieces with his mouth and shook his head, dropping and picking up the pieces every time to cool it off. It took him a bit longer to eat the entire meal, but once it cooled down he really enjoyed it.
He heard the noises his new friend made as she ate her tuna. He couldn't do the same, but he made satisfied growls and purrs as he ate the tuna. When he was done it was time to clean, so he licked his mouth and then started on his front paw, to then rub the paw over his head.
Thank you, Selorina, that was really nice. When I am done with my bath, is there a place I can sleep. Eating makes me really sleepy.
You can sleep under my desk in here. Seorina said, then she took off her uniform jacket, remembering to attach he comm. badge to her under shirt. You can sleep on this. She said forming it into a rough circle and placing it under her desk.
Tumnus jumped off the desk and sniffed the thing Selorina put on the floor for him. He crawled on it and kneaded it with his nails. It felt warm. He softly purred and said, It smells like my new friend, Selorina. He softly lay down and peacefully fell asleep purring.
Selorina smiled and watched him sleep for a while before returning to her work, glad to have made a new friend.
