Congratulations on an awesome December. Your writing is continuing to amaze me. We had a great month on the ship despite the holidays putting us on a lull. We have a few awards to present, some special ones that I am excited about so let us get to it.

Commander Tyler Malbrooke Crew's Choice Award - "He is doing such a great job at heading up the ship."
-Lieutenant Richard Ballston-

"I'd like to nominate our illustrious CO. For outstanding service both IC and OOC. The Secret santa was a great idea, helping us to grow as people in my opinion."
-Lieutenant Larim Myles-

Lieutenant Richard Ballston MD PsyD Captain's Personal Merit Award - "Since joining the Pioneer, Dr Ballston has been a tour de force. He has jumped with both feet posting with anyone and everyone who will have him. On top of this the work he put in designing the Azzian race will add for story as the ship progresses down the road. I look forward to seeing the original ways that he will have for patching up this crew. For these reasons I would like to award him the Captain's Personal Merit Ribbon for December. Keep up the great work Doc..."
-Commander Tyler Malbrooke-

Ensign T'Rish Executive Officer's Merit Award - "What can you say...a wonderful person and a wonderful writer. Jen has managed to take a emotionless Vulcan and document her trials of having just come from the Academy to her first posting and amalgamating with a new crew who are, quite frankly, full of emotions and aren't afraid to show them ;) Jen hasn't been afraid to take on what is a difficult species to write and to just make it work. She's jumped in head first, encouraging all the writers to JP with her and helping to character build when it's been needed. I can't think of anyone more deserving of this award for Dec 2017."
-Lieutenant Commander Patricia Montgomery-

Lieutenant Commander Patricia Montgomery Non-Player Character Award - "I would like to award this for the portrayal of Ensign Suzie Quinn. The Ensign is a counselor in the ship's medical department and has added to the world of this sim immensely. Her attempts to evaluate the crew are entertaining and at times humorous. I look forward to seeing how this erstwhile NPC will corner the CO into a counseling session."
-Commander Tyler Malbrooke-

1st Lieutenant Jack Cunningham Jr Meritorious Newcomer of the Month Award - "Fore jumping right in with myself and intel to hammer out responsibilities between the three of us."
-Lieutenant Larim Myles-

Warrant Officer Tobias Beckett Enlisted Award of Merit - "The Warrant Officer exemplifies this award by running the Intelligence Department while maintaining his enlisted status."
-Lieutenant Vaebn tr'Hwersuil-

The final award is a special one I think. This is an award that in order to earn one must show a pattern in their writing and continue to do so. This award is presented by both the Commanding Officer and the Executive Officer...

Lieutenant Thalk
DeForest Kelly Humor Award - "Thalk is an Engineer with a humorous flair. It is as if Scotty was a Klingon. His posts are a joy to read and almost always have me laughing. He also brings his lighthearted humor OOC on our discord channel. His unique view on how 20th century technology can integrate into the 24th century is a humorous one. For example he welds hull plating back on with an acetylene torch."
-Commander Tyler Malbrooke-

"What can one say...Thalk and his writer never fail to leave a smile on the face of either the people they write with, those of us lucky enough to read what's been written and those of us privileged enough to be able to interact with the writer over Discord. Josh's experience in theater is so clear to see in his writing style but also in how effortlessly he manages to inject humor into both his character and his writing. I can't think of a player any more deserving of this award."
-Lieutenant Commander Patricia Montgomery-

Congratulations to everyone and great work. Now we get to the meat of mission one and we will see exactly where you guys are going to go with this. Thank you for your Pioneering Spirit and off we go...
