Mission:
Episode 4 - The Sum of Our Parts
Location: Alt. Rura Penthe mines
Timeline: MD001 1300 hrs
May 28 2394 1300 hrs (relative time)
Darf was in his bunk when he was thrown from his bed as the ship was turning into the wave. Darf thought what the hell was going…… And after the blue wave washed over the ship he blacked out. As he started to rise there was a damp chill in the air. It smelled very stale and musty. As he started to open his eyes he could see he was not in his quarters but was laying in what looked like a cave of some sort. As he sat up he had a dizzy spell and stopped from getting up all the way. All around him he saw fellow Brikarians sleeping and stirring around fires that where lit in the cave.
He had never been to this place before are far as he could tell. Where was he and how did he get here? All of a sudden a loud horn echoed through the cave. All the Brikars that were sleeping started to rustle around not looking like the where happy to be up, but they did it anyway. As they all started to stand and pick up axes and shovels they made their way in line down a shaft of the mine. Darf just sat there watching and trying to figure out what was happening. Why where so many of his people here and they looked so defeated. That is not what he remembered of his culture.
Just as he was about to reach out to someone and talk he heard the deep bellow of a Klingon braking at him. “Get on your feet Rocky. Time to get to work.” He said with a very arrogant tone. “It’s funny we conquered your system and now you dumb rocks are digging in the rocks for us here on Rura Penthe. We should have done this sooner your kind adapt so well to the cold we don’t lose our work force as quickly as we used to.”
A rage welled up inside Darf. Conquered Brikar? What is he talking about our two people have always been at a state of war but it has always been a stalemate. How did they get through our superior planetary defense system? This had to be a really bad dream. Darf tried his best to wake up or remember what had happened. Last thing he remembered was being in his room and the Pioneer making a hard bank and then a blue glow.
Maybe he was knocked unconscious and he is stuck in an ultra-realistic nightmare. No wait where was the Pioneer heading? Darf rose to his feet as ordered and got in line. He needed to play it cool while he figured out what this was. Then it dawned on him. He had contacted Cardassia about the station going boom soon and causing some chronometric shenanigans. Maybe as they approached it had gone boom and threw him somewhere different in space and time. Now the realization hit him. How does he get back to his home reality when he is stranded on a penal colony?
