Mission: Episode 11 - Family Matters
Location: Quarters of Vaebn tr'Hwersuil - Deck 2 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD001 0400 hrs

Ambassador's Quarters Starbase Port Royale

All had gone to plan and Loval could not be happier. He was safely ensconced in his quarters at Port Royale and there was no one who was the wiser as to what he had pulled off. Possible the greatest bid to get Romulus back on track that had ever been tried. He had successfully kid napped a Starfleet Cadet. Loval was sure that in a matter of moments his old friend Vaebn would be told of his sister's disappearance and Loval planned on being aboard his ship and heading toward home by then. There was so much to do and less time to do it in.

Office of the Chief of Security, Starfleet Academy, Earth

Chief Thrawn could not make heads or tails of it. Somehow a team of four made their way into the Academy and made off with one of the Cadets. The Andorian's head already hurt with the amount of calls he was going to have to make to answer for whatever happened here. However, the one call that he did not look forward to was the one he had to make now, the one to the victim's brother. Especially since he had no answers. Thrawn turned to his assistant a stout Indian man. "Get Commander tr'Hwersuil on the line aboard the USS Pioneer."

Vaebn was heading to the holodeck to run some large area mapping from the neutral zone when his combadge alerted him. "tr'Hwersuil here." "Sir, priority message for you from Starfleet Academy" the voice announced. Vaebn thought for a moment, what could she have done to warrant a call like this? "Please route it to holodeck 2," he responded. He hurried his steps and stepped into the holodeck, securing the doors behind him. He tapped the interface screen and completed the connection, "Lt. Commander tr'Hwersuil here."

"Commander tr'Hwersuil I am Lieutenant Thrawn the Chief of Security here at Starfleet Academy..." The Andorian began and his antennae began to droop as he realized what he had to say was not the best of news. "...I am not sure how to put this so I am just going to come out and say it. Your sister has been kidnapped. We are not sure by whom exactly. However, systems indicate a Romulan transporter was used to get her out of the Academy. My need to contact you is two fold. First to inform you of what has happened, and second to see if you know of anyone who would want to do this."

Vaebn stared at the image of the Lieutenant in front of him. He gritted his teeth and pushed his anger down. This was not the person to lash out at. "When..... How did this happen?" He held onto the information from the communication that had occurred earlier and decided that he should keep that in a tight circle that did not include the team who lost his sister.

"It seems that she has been missing for about 12 hours. Her roommate here at the Academy states that she went to the library yesterday evening to study temporal mechanics. However, the library has no record of her arrival. No one knew she was missing until this morning when the same said roommate reported that she was not back in their quarters. As to who sir that we are not sure about. All we have thus far is a residual transporter signal..." Thrawn's voice trailed off as the next words were something that he knew would effect the Romulan Commander on the other side of the communique deeply. "...They are Romulan sir!"

Vaebn's eyes narrowed as his brow furrowed, his ears flushed deep green with anger. A slight growl formed in his throat before dying on his lips. "Please update me with any further information as your investigation continues. I would express my disappointment in your team, however, I am fully aware of the subterfuge that my former colleagues employ. If I were you Lieutenant, I would upgrade my security protocols so that this never happens again. We will speak of this again soon." His anger seethed below the surface, but he would only let it go when he faced this Loval character.

Thrawn straightened up a bit. The reaction wasn't directed at the talking down that Vaebn just gave him the reaction was more for addressing a superior officer. "Yes sir! Protocols and patrols are already updated. Command has been notified and they are planning a reaction to the incident. I will see to your updates personally over secure channel direct to the Pioneer." Thrawn wanted to be there, to be out there looking for the girl however, he knew that his best use was right where he was. He hoped that the measures would meet with Vaebn's approval.

"See that it is done Lieutenant. Pioneer out." Vaebn said and the screen went black. He knew that it was not Thrawn's fault however, Vaebn could not help but take it out on the security chief. He had to get a control of himself as he still felt the anger and the flush in his ears. Vaebn knew that his next stop was going to have to be the Captain, however, he did not want to talk to Malbrooke like this. He looked out the window of his quarters and squinted into space. I am coming... Hang on... he thought.
