Mission:
Episode 10 - New Home, Same Pioneers
Location: XO Ready Room
Timeline: MD011 1000 hrs
"Today is the day sir, with her permission. I want to use the ploy luring Jayden to your place and proposing to him sir." Clarissa said, with a big smile on her face. She had run through this a thousand times in her mind. And now her she was asking him to help her.
Quinn would have never guessed this was the reason she asked to see him. He was surprised, and honored all at once. His reaction was classic, he was in a state of shock. "What?" Quinn asked, a little surprised with what he was hearing.
"You are our closest friends, and it would mean a lot to me, if you all where there to witness this moment, but I do have to ask sir, that you do not tell anyone. I will convince Ameri and Jayden we are really doing this for Kalina and Zaire update, but in all honesty, I want to ask that man of mine to marry me." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face.
"That's no small task, Lieutenant." Quinn said, a little surprised. He knew that Ameri would want him to do it. "But you are good friends of ours, so I would be happy to help out. Plus keeping this from Ameri, will be worth it, to me." Quinn said, with a humble smile on his face. He was deeply honored, that she asked him to help her on her special day.
"Thank you sir." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face. She was super excited, she just needed to prepare the night. And how to play this out.
"About time, you know Jayden wants to marry you." Quinn pointed out to her. He was only stating the obvious. He had no doubt, that Jayden would say yes.
"I know, and I want to marry that big handsom lug, just took me a little longer to get there, and on my own accords." Clarissa mentioned to him.
"So we should probably go over some of the details, about how you want to pull this off." Quinn said, as he looked over to Clarissa.
"I was thinking, when you are setting up the tables, you ask Ameri why you all are doing this, hint to her of own curiosity to see how Kalina and Zaire are doing. She will fall for it, I will do the same for Jayden." Clarissa said to him, she wanted them distracted to the idea, that she was going to pop the big question.
"After words, we all meet at your place, then I will give a speech about saying I called everyone together, because we are all curious to learn what your reaction will be, and the reactions of the Ó Flannagáin's, then I will step down on one knee and say to him, when I ask you Jayden Robertson to marry me. I hope by that point he says yes." Clarissa said, hoping that was dopey and yet romantic.
"I know a lot to say, and a little awkward but I think he will fall for it." Clarissa said, with a nervous grin. She hoped Quinn liked her idea.
"I can not wait to see you do all of that. If you pull it off, I will be impressed, and I will do my part." Quinn said, curious to see if it went according to how she wanted to plan it out.
"I have faith it will, plus it will be so un-onthorodox and original that Jayden should love it. Plus its a story we will be able to tell and be solely unique to all of us." Clarissa said.
"It will indeed, I am happy to bare witness to this proposal. It's not every day I get asked to witness something so special and intimate between two people." Quinn said, with a big warm smile on his face.
"You both are very important to us, I would be sad if you were not there for this special occasion." Clarissa said, plus in her eyes if this goes sideways, she will have a shoulder to cry on. She had no doubts though, he would say yes.
"I am humbled, and I am pretty sure Ameri would be too, if she knew what you were really up too." Quinn said, with a humbling smile on his face.
"Will Enya be there, it would mean a lot if she was there too." Clarissa asked, hoping that she would be there.
"I am pretty sure, she will demand to be your flower girl." Quinn said, with a big smile on his face.
"And I would say, its hers." Clarissa said, thinking that Enya would make a lovely flower girl.
"So we should finalize when and what time. My place, let's say 1615 hours?" Quinn asked Clarissa.
"That works sir." Clarissa said with a big smile on her face.
"Good, good, then I will do my part, and you will do yours. When its all set, good luck Clarissa." Quinn said, reaching out to shake her hand.
Clarissa shook his hand back. "Thanks sir, and thank you again for doing for me. It means a lot to me." Clarissa suggested to him, as she got ready to leave his office.
Clarissa left his office thinking to herself, in a few short hours, she would no longer be single and dating. She would be engaged, and slated to be married. She was very nervous and not sure how to respond to it all.
She was very excited and very nervous all at the same time. This was a big step for her. It was not every day, you ask your soulmate to marry you, and today she would be doing that. She took the moment, to breath, and allow the moment to happen.
