Mission: Episode 10 - New Home, Same Pioneers
Location: Science Department
Timeline: MD008 1500 hrs

Zaire sat in science waiting for someone to come and fix his station. Things had been going along quite well and then there was no power whatsoever.

"I heard you have a broken console?" Clarissa asked as she walked into the science lab. She had not spent a lot of time in this lab, so when she saw the opportunity to fix a console, she jumped on it. She had always wanted to stop in the room, to check it out.

“I do,” Zaire nodded. “I was working along and it just lost power.” He smiled. “I was told it’s temperamental and to kick it but I called for you.”

"Who told you to kick it?" Clarissa asked, thinking in the back of her mind, its probably why the console gave out. To much abuse from the scienctists.

“I don’t know his name,” Zaire said. “He was passing by but if I see him again I’ll let you know.” He watched her go to work. “How are you and Jayden doing?”

Clarissa grinned, thinking to herself. Good safe answer. Never snitch on a fellow crewman. Always have each others back. "Ya you do that." Clarissa said, with a big smile on her face.

Zaire grinned. He knew she was on to him. “I hope it’s a simple fix for you.” He wasn’t worried about getting his work done, he could always stay late.

"Should be, just replace the broke relay circuits, then fix any micro fractures." Clarissa pointed out to him. This should be over with in a matter of minutes, Clarissa thought to herself.

“I appreciate you and Jayden hanging out with me,” Zaire said as he watched her work.

"It was the least we could do, for a friend." Clarissa said, with a humble smile on her face. She started to dissemble the relay circuits.

“It helped me get back on track,” Zaire said with a smile. “And made me hope I have a relationship like yours.”

"I hope so too, I want all of us to find our potential soulmates." Clarissa said, with a big dopey smile on her face.

Zaire grinned. "You are a romantic, so am I." He shook his head. "I know most guys aren't but I like happy endings."

"I would hope so." Clarissa said, as she went on. "Can't imagine waking up, and not wanting to see a happy day, with the one you love." Clarissa pointed out to him.

"That is what I am looking forward to," Zaire responded. "It will make life complete."

"That was easy enough." Clarissa said, as she completed repairs on the console. She looked over to Zaire with a warm smile.

“Thank you,” Zaire said sincerely. “You got that up fast, I appreciate it.”’

"It's no biggie, I suggest to tell the others, to stop kicking and hitting it." Clarissa suggested to Zaire to tell the others.

“I will definitely,” Zaire agreed. “You can count on me.” He shouldn’t have said that in the beginning.

"Whatcha doing tonight?" Clarissa asked, wondering if he needed another play date, since it sounded like he was not going to reaching out to Kalina. She was glad he was listening to the others, and giving her time to process it all.

“I have no plans,” Zaire admitted. He hated sounding pathetic but Jayden and Clarissa were really the only ones he knew on board.

"Then you should come over for a bit, or we can all go out to After 11. That place gets pretty rowdy." Clarissa pointed out to Zaire, as two possible options.

“I would like to come over,” Zaire said with a smile. “If you are sure it’s okay with Jayden, I don’t want to intrude.”

"Jayden, don't worry about him. He is totally okay with it." Clarissa said, feeling a little bad for Zaire situation. But she did not want him to be alone in his quarters, moping around.

Zaire smiled. “I am looking forward to it.” He could tell Clarissa meant it. “Do you want me to bring anything?”

"Just yourself, and the attitude, that its okay to loose to Clarissa." She said, with a big teasing grin on her face. She was very competitive.

Zaire grinned. “Or you may be the one dealing with a loss. I play to win as well.”

"You have confidence, good remember that for tonight." Clarissa said, as she continued to tease him, in a playful way, not a teasing way. "You better show, or will come and track ya down. All this big talk, is making me want to play even more." Clarissa said to him.

“Oh I will be there,” Zaire said with a show of confidence. “You and Jayden better be ready to console each other when I end the evening as the winner.”

"That's the spirit." Clarissa said, as she started to head towards the door, getting ready to depart.

“Don’t forget to tell Jayden to bring his game,” Zaire called out. He was looking forward to the evening now. Before all he had to look forward to was his quarters and then he would start thinking again.

"Don't worry about him." Clarissa said, as she walked closer to the doors, and watched them swish open. "He'll be the first victim of my wrath." Clarissa said in a teasing voice.

"Jayden knows how to play the game, I will suggest not teaming up with him. Because he is loyal to me." Clarissa said, to him. Knowing that he would never do anything that risked upsetting Clarissa. Which was sweet of him, but also troubling.

Zaire grinned as he turned back to finish up his work. It should be a fun night.
