Mission:
Episode 10 - New Home, Same Pioneers
Location: Solwick's Quarters
Timeline: MD007 1710 hrs
Kalina was still trying to process the news. She had ended her call with her aunt. She could not believe, her aunt held her to a promise she made when she was only five years old.
"Computer open a channel to Port Royale, I want to speak with Lieutenant Kieran Sowlick." Kalina called out. She wanted some advice from her sister.
Kieran appeared on the other end of the call. She had a big smile on her face, she noticed it was really Kalina on the other end of the call. She was not expecting a call from her. "What's wrong?" Kieran asked, noticing the concerned look on Kalina's face.
"Where do I start?" Kalina stated with an annoyed look on her face. She tried to stomach her anger, as she called out. "I guess all I have to say is Auntie Krisna." Kalina said, as she waited to see Kieran's response.
"what did she do now?" Kieran asked. She was not surprised Krisna did something, she was just surprised it happened to Kalina and not her. She knew that her Aunt took a special interest in Kalina. Mainly because of the resemblance Kalina had to Trey.
"She arranged a marriage for me. The fucking nerve of that lady." Kalina said, with an annoyed look on his face. She hated the fact that Auntie Krisna did this.
"Are you serious?" Kieran asked, with a surprised look on her face. She wondered why she did this, but then she realized why. She knew that Kalina looked a lot like Treyla, and Krisna was heart broken over the death of her daughter.
"I am." Kalina said, as she noticed Kieran's facial expressions changed. "What is it?" Kalina asked, with a surprised look on her face. What she did she know, that Kalina did not.
"You remember cousin Treyla dying, and how you a lot like her." Kieran pointed out to Kalina, hoping she drew the same conclusion.
"Yes, but what does that have to do with me?" Kalina asked, as she was not putting the pieces together, like Kieran was.
"Sadly, everything." Kieran started to say to her. "Because you remind her of Treyla in looks, so in my opinion she made you her serrogate child." Kieran told her, hoping that cleared things up.
"That explains her need to want to marry me off, I told her apparently when I was five years old, that I wanted to get married, and if I was not married at 21, to have her marry me off." Kalina said, still feeling very annoyed.
"What did she tell you about the marriage?" Kieran asked. She was curious, if Kalina allowed her to get that far into the conversation.
"She claims she did it for me, his family is getting a small political bump. His sister will become an attache to our auntie." Kalina pointed out to Kieran.
"What does he get?" Kieran asked.
"Besides me, nothing." Kalina smirked out, in annoyance. She was still not very happy with this decision.
"You are a catch, lucky him." Kieran said, with a big grin on her face.
"Ha ha ha." Sarcastically and rhetorically suggested Kalina, as she rolled her eyes. She was very grateful that Kieran was there, to help her work through this.
"Have you met him yet?" Kieran asked, curious to learn how that first meeting went between them.
"Yes." Was all that Kalina wanted to say in response.
"Well, don't keep me in the dark, spill." Kieran said, feeling a little envious of her sister. She was not sure why, she loved Zayne. But part of her felt, that she might have manipulated him into the relationship. Purely accidently, but maybe it was a good manipulation.
"He is very cute, seems to be funny and we got a long, up to the point, where he dropped the news were getting married." Kalina said, thinking to herself, maybe she was being to harsh on him, he was just the messenger.
"Thats a good start, I suggest you get to know him, maybe you will feel that spark." Kieran said, hoping she would. Kieran loved having that spark with Zayne, she wanted Kalina to experience it as well.
