Mission: Episode 10 - New Home, Same Pioneers
Location: XO Ready Room
Timeline: MD001 1410 hrs

Quinn felt a little guilty about spending a lot of time away from the family. He knew he needed to make it up to them. This silly skirmish with the New Maquis, took his attention away from them. And he knew better, than to take anything for granted. He decided tonight they would have dinner, then go play on the promenade.

He imagined what that would be liked. He had never been to the promenade area of Starbase Sirius. He was curious to learn more about the promenade.

He imaged several restaurants, probably a few clothing outlet shops, some recreational areas to play in. Maybe a few religious buildings. He had no idea, but he was eager to find out.

He did some research, and learned that Starbase Surius also had some interesting and highly questionable items for purchase. Some of them being from the former Romulan Empire. After the fall of Romulas, items started to become more available.

He wanted to try out some Romulan Whiskey, he heard that the Starbase sold it. Unlike Ale, it was not illegal, but it was very potent. And he wanted to experience it for himself.

He made a mental note, to find out if the rumors were true, and if they really sold Romulan Whiskey. If they did, he wanted to sample it, and probably pick up a case of it.

For the moment though, he had a few things to do. And he wanted to get them done as soon as possible. He was eager to check out the promenade area with his wife and daughter.

Beyond his duties to his family, which was very important. He had his duties to his crew, and today was no exception. He had just got the request for an transfer, of one his officers.

Quinn knew never to take things for granted. But before he could enjoy some down time, he needed to check in with Elloma Essu. And approve her transfer request to remain on Empok Nor. She was being offered a department head role, and this was a good opportunity for her.

Quinn started to read the request from Captain Hood of Empok Nor. He was happy to see the glowing review, that the Captain was giving Elloma. Even though he barely knew her, he had kept up with her performance on the station.

It was nice reading the glowing reviews that Captain Hood was giving Eloma. He hated the fact, that he was about to loose her. Elloma was a damn good officer.

Quinn decided to open a channel with Empok Nor, and speak to Lieutenant Essu, personally. It did not take long for the channel to open up, and Elloma to be on the other side. "Lieutenant Essu, how are you doing?" Quinn asked, with a big smile on his face.

Quinn noticed her still wearing her gold uniform. He had expected her to be in a red uniform. But she had refrained from changing over. She was doing everything by the book. And he appreciated that.

"Commander Ó Flannagáin, was not expecting your call sir." Elloma said, wondering what he wanted with her. She wondered, if he got the transfer request, and was calling about it.

Quinn smiled, when he noticed that he surprised her. He wanted to tell her personally, that he was going to approve her request and send it forward to Captain Malbrooke.

"I was calling to tell you I am approving your transfer, do you have anything still on the Pioneer you need transferred over to Empok Nor?" Quinn asked, as he waited for her response.

"Thank you sir, and I already took everything over to the station, prior to my departure sir." Elloma said, with a warm smile on her face. It was sweet of him to call and confirm with her.

"you have been very instrumental during my investigation. I appreciate that Lieutenant." Quinn said, as he went on. "We are following up on the leads, you have generated." He wanted to be careful what he said, over an open communications channel.

"I was happy to help, sorry I will not be returning to the ship, this was to good of an opportunity to pass up, sir." Elloma said, as she offered her apologies to him.

"The Captain and I support your decision, and we are both very proud of you. This is a great opportunity for you." Quinn said, with a humbling smile on his face.

"Thank you Commander, I am very humbled for being given this opportunity." Elloma said, from the bottom of her heart. She had a tone of sincerity.

"Are you ready to go in your new department?" Quinn asked, as he waited to hear what Elloma had to say.

"I believe so sir, I have a lot of playing catch up to do, I know I have it in me." Elloma said with a big grin on her face.

"I know you, I have the upmost faith in you. And so does this crew. We are sad to see you go, and Empok Nor is lucky to have you." Quinn said, feeling like he was stroking her ego a little to hard.

"I am grateful to all of you, and I hope down the road, to return. But for now, sadly this is good-bye sir." Elloma said, trying to hold back her tears, and her sadness.

"If you need anything, I mean anything. Do not hesitate to ask for it." Quinn suggested to Elloma, as he was preparing to end the call soon. His tone was a little more fast past, and sounded closed off.

"Thank you Commander." Elloma said, as the scene starts to fade away.

"Not a problem, good day Lieutenant." Quinn said, as the scene starts to fade way.
