Mission: Episode 10 - New Home, Same Pioneers
Location: USS Pioneer-Various locations
Timeline: MD007 0800 hrs

At Transporter 1 the transporter chief hit his combadge. "Commander Myles, Miss Willy Masters has arrived, can you please come to to transporter room 1, she has requested your presence."

Larim perked up upon hearing the news. He put aside his padd and tapped his commbadge. "That's great, chief. Tell her that I'm on my way and I'll be there shortly"

After Larim confirmed he got a new message on his console. he tapped his badge again. "Captain Malbrooke, Commander Ó Flannagáin, Miss Masters just asked if your could come to transporter 1. If it's not too much trouble. I am suppose to tell you..." He paused a moment. "She would like to meet the ones that can keep her niece in line. Also this is her first time out in space, so she hopes you will say yes."

Quinn was a little surprised by the tone of Larim's call. Deep down he wondered what Larim and Jennifer meant by, 'in line?' Was she she a roudy and out of control? Did she talk to much? What was her story, Quinn wondered, as he got out of his office, and made his way to the transporter room. "On my way." Quinn called out.

Tyler had be relaxing in his quarters when the call came through on his comm badge. This was a curve ball that he had not expected, that of having to greet the crew's family when they came aboard. He stood resolutely and tugged at the tunic of his uniform. Tyler kissed his wife and told her he would see her in a bit then he made his way to the Transporter Room. He stepped in with a broad smile on his face. "Welcome aboard the Pioneer!"

Quinn walked into the transporter room, shortly after Tyler. He looked over to Tyler and gave him a simple head nod. Quinn waited to see what the family member did. He was curious to learn more about, keeping there guest 'in line.'

During the exchanged look with Quinn, Tyler simply smirked. He knew what was on the mind of his XO and felt the same way. Giving tours to the family of his crew was not something Tyler had expected to be doing.

"And these must be the men that tamed my niece," came a female voice. The blond Brit female walked to the captain and commander. "Captain Malbrooke, Commander Ó Flannagain, thank you for having me on your ship. We should have some tea after this." She then turned to Larim. "Larim, dear, shall we?"

"Well any family is welcome home on the Pioneer." Tyler replied and motioned to the door. He was already a little happy to turn the woman over to Larim.

Quinn kept his feelings to himself. There was technically no harm on letting family get a tour, as long as certain areas remained off limits. He smiled, as he looked to Tyler, and then over to Larim. He watched Larim, escort the lady. Quinn just looked at Tyler. His eyes, said what his mind was trying to convey. "Here it begins, families coming aboard the Pioneer." He knew this would be a hard transition for Tyler, luckily for him, he had a great support center, to see him through this.

Tyler and Quinn had worked with each other long enough that they did not need words to communicate. Tyler understood his XO's meaning with just the look. He was glad that Quinn was here to help him get these family members acclimated to the Pioneer and for Tyler to realize that starships were indeed places for families.

"Baby steps, Captain. Baby steps." Was all that Quinn said in low tone. He was not trying to draw any unneeded attention to the topic. He could see that Tyler was starting to process it. He was just trying to convey, it you take it in small strides.

In an effort to get the ball rolling Tyler started a conversation. "So tell me Ms Masters have you ever been aboard an Intrepid Class starship before?"

Quinn smiled as he looked around the room, for a moment. Even though he had been on the intrepid class for a while. He was still pretty amazed by her design, and her functionality. He was not sure if Ms. Masters, had been on this class before. All he knew for sure was, she was in for a treat. The Pioneer was still could turn some heads, especially after her refits and upgrades.

Willy stopped in her tracks when the Captain asked her that question. She turned around and walked to the Captain and the commander. She smiled. "To be honest, this is my first time out in space. I traveled here on the Mystic, which is an old Oberth class, I was told. And before that the farthest I got was Paris, if I was in a good mood that is." She laughed and then pointed over her shoulder, "I've never even used a transporter, I have been scared as hell for those bloody things. But I understand you weren't willing to come to Earth for just little ole me, so I had to come. I am the closest thing she has to a parent. The poor dear."

Tyler smiled and chuckled at the old world charm of this woman. "Yes my apologies, but we could not detour off mission. However, travelling on an Oberth is like strolling through history. I am sure that was something to cherish. Now the Pioneer is state of the art. There are even parts of the ship that can be considered near sentient. Perhaps a good first stop on the tour would be the Holodeck." Tyler had to think quickly for an area that would be considered safe for a civilian to go to.

Quinn thought to himself, Nicely done Tyler. He knew traveling on an aging Oberth Class Starship was no easy feat. The poor lady deserved a medal for traveling on that piece of junk. "I hope your accomendations on the Pioneer are to your liking?" Quinn asked, with a warm hearted smile.

"Commander, I just arrived here, I'd have to see the accommodations first before I make any recommendations. So..." She turned once more to Larim. "So where is the journey going first?" She then turned to the Captain and Commanders first. Do you have any people to get my luggage. I was told they were transported to a cargo bay. I wouldn't want to rummage to your cargo, so I will have you send someone to fetch it for me and send it to my accommodations."

Quinn just smiled, he thought it was adorable that the Jennifer Masters relative, was already acting like a high ranking diplomatic officer. "Yes, your luggage will be sent to your quarters." Quinn simply responded. As he looked over to Tyler, when she was not looking saying with his eyes, "Oh boy."

Tyler simply nodded his head and smiled. Although he secretly hoped for a summons from the Bridge, anything to get him out of there. "As I said it might be best to start with the holodeck and we can work from there."

"The holodecks are pretty state of that art. Our operations team does a nice job keeping them in order." Quinn said, with a big grin on his face. He thought the holodecks on the Pioneer, were probably one of the best holodecks in the fleet.

"Interesting," Willy said smiling, "lets go see them, Larim." She nodded to Quinn and Tyler. "Captain, Commander, I don't want to keep you two, there must be something more important to do than showing little old me around the ship. I am pretty sure Larim can take it from here."

Tyler was beyond relieved that this woman let him off the hook. "Well then I know that you are in good hand with Commander Myles. If anything is needed do not hesitate to ask."

"The Commander is very capable, if you need anything just ask Larim, will get the message." Quinn said, with a big grin on his face. Like Tyler, he was relieved as well to be heading back to the bridge

Commander miles just grinned. Up to that point he was just remaining silent. He figured with the captain and the XO more or less taking the lead, he just goes with the flow. " My pleasure Mrs Masters." He finally said.

Willy checkled, "I think that will be quite alright." She tapped Larim on his shoulder. "Now don't be so formal, you can call my aunt Willy. Now lead me to the Holodeck." She nodded to Tyler and Quinn. "Captain, Commander, it was a pleasure, I will see you later." She then almost pushed Larim out of the room.
