Mission:
Episode 10 - New Home, Same Pioneers
Location: Captain's Ready Room - Deck 1 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD003 1030 hrs
Larim was grinning, only he didn't know why. After all the only wedding he planned was his own. And that was easy, academy graduation helped there. And just about the only thing that transferred over to now was asking people to officiate.
As he stood outside the ready room his mind wandered. "Shouldn't Jenn be doing this? Nah, she probably has a million things to do already. "
Larim shrugged as he rang the chime.
Tyler sat on the couch and relaxed as he watched the stars pass the window. The ship was at warp and en route to Starbase Sirius. Everything seemed to have returned to normal for the most part, and he enjoyed some much needed alone time. The door chime caused him to snap his head toward the door. "Come on in..." He called to the door and hoped that it was good news for a change.
Larim entered to see Tyler on the couch. He smiled as he walked up. "Hi, Captain. I wondered if I could ask you something?"
"Always... My door is always open Larim. Come on in, have a seat and let me know what is on your mind." Tyler smiled and put his arms up on the back of the couch.
"Well I could be "official" and say that I'm putting a team together." He laughed. "But it is true, more or less." He flashed a little smile. "You see, Jenn Masters drafted me into being her wedding planner. " he took a breath.
"And I figure she would be more than pleased if I booked you to do the honors."
"I had heard that Masters and Calhoun were tying the knot. Signed the authorization myself. Didn't know you got roped into planning the event though. Are you sure she wants me to perform the ceremony? I mean the Captain marrying people is so cliche." Tyler said with a smirk, he already knew that he would do the deed. He just wanted to make sure that he was the one that was wanted.
"You know, you have a point there" Larim said, scratching his chin. "But I cant think of anyone else shed rather have, Boss." Larim smiled
"Well you tell them I would be honored. However, I expect ole Billy to be a little less crabby now that he has someone to keep him in line." Tyler smiled. "Just make sure to clear the time and date so we can make a good show of it. It isn't often that Pioneers get married."
"Sounds good to me, boss. I already called Jenn's family on earth and her aunt is on the way. So I figure plan it around a few days once we meet her transport. I did offer her a tour of the sip after all." Larim said.
"Well I can think of no one better to give that tour that the Security Chief. Coordinate the rendezvous as we cannot deviate course unfortunately. We are due at Starbase Sirius and the Admiral does not want us late." Tyler said and with the business out of the way his demeanor changed a little. "Does the happy couple have a preference in ceremony? Do they want something traditional or what?" He smiled and sipped a cup of coffee.
"Best to my knowledge, traditional. I'm paraphrasing here but she said "No Betazoid shenanigans" Larim laughed.
"Well I am glad that I do not have to hit the gym. I will have to write something out for the ceremony. This is a rare chance for a Captain, I can't let it go without making a splash. You tell the happy couple that I am in." Tyler mused, even though with the addition of the wedding there was now a lot on his plate. But how could he let his crew down.
"I sure will, boss" Larim grinned. "I'll tell her ASAP."
