Mission:
Episode 9 - Empok's End
Location: Camp McCoy
Timeline: MD004 1800 hrs
"I hope you do not mind, but I wanted to get off the Pioneer, and have dinner down here on the base. Try something new." Clarissa said, with a big grin, and holding Jayden's hand. As they both beamed down, in civilian attire. She wanted to tell him, about her new promotion, and to make sure he was okay with it. But she wanted the night to be just the two of them.
“It is fine with me,” Jayden smiled. “I should have thought it sooner. I love serving on the ship but it is nice to get away for a bit.” He looked at her. “Where are you taking me on our date.”
"I have to plan out everything huh?" Clarissa asked, as she pulled herself in closer to him. And held him close by.
“Not necessarily,” Jayden murmured. “As long as we’re together I am happy. I was curious to see if you had already chosen.”
"Your so cute, when you are right. I was hoping to check a little restaurant called Chico's." Clarissa said, she loved Spanish foods.
“Sounds good to me,” Jayden agreed. He wanted to ask about her meeting earlier but she seemed happy so obviously it had gone well.
Clarissa lead the way, with her attached at his arm. "How was your day?" She asked, trying to get a feel for how his day went.
“Typical day in Operations,” Jayden replied. “I have been given more duties by the chief. She seems to have taken my career under her wing.” He smiled. “How was your day?”
"How is it working for Ameri, must be a lot different than working for Dana." Clarissa said, as they continued to walk towards the promenade area.
“She is a perfect mix of professional,” Jayden replied. “And yet personal at the same time. I am learning so much from her.”
"She does seem very nice, and knowledgeable. I had a good day too. It's why I wanted to go out tonight, and talk." Clarissa said, as they started to approach the promenade area.
“Oh,” Jayden was suddenly nervous. Had she been offered a position on another ship and was leaving? He knew that could happen but the thought freaked him out. He took a deep breath to calm himself and waited for her to continue.
"Nothing dramatic, but sort of big, I got promoted today." Clarissa said, hoping he was okay with it? She knew, he was still an Ensign. Which did not bug her at all.
Jayden’s eyes lit up and he grinned widely. “That is the best news I have had in a long time. I am so happy for you, having worked as hard as you have you deserve it!” He hugged her tightly.
"You sure, your okay with this?" Clarissa asked, wanting to be fair to his feelings. She was excited too, but trying to keep it contained for his sake.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Jayden frowned suddenly. “Is there bad news to go along with the good?”
"No just worried about your feelings, I hate the fact only I was promoted. But hopefully soon, it will be your time." Clarissa suggested, hoping that Diari would see his value, and Malbrooke too.
Jayden smiled at her. She was worried about him. “That never crossed my mind honestly. I was too busy being happy for you.” He paused. “For a moment though I was nervous you were leaving.”
"Leaving my man, not gonna happen. You are stuck with me." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face. She pulled in close to him, and gave him a big bear hug.
“I’m happy to hear that,” Jayden murmured as he wrapped his arms around her. “We need to celebrate your success! I am so damn proud of you!”
"And when its your turn, we will celebrate yours. Hopefully soon." Clarissa said, as they approached the restaurant.
“There is a while department full of Ops officers,” Jayden replied. “I don’t see that happening any time soon.”
"You can't stay an ensign forever." Clarissa point out to him, as they took a seat. The scene starts to fade, with them talking about her promotion.
