Location: Main Engineering - Deck 11 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD004 0400 hrs

Jayden has just reported for work when he was ordered to Enginnering. They were having an issue with the sensors giving off some false readings. Things had been off since they had arrived here. He couldn’t put a finger on it, maybe that was what was causing his restless night. He had tossed and turned until the alarm went off.

Heading into engineering, he started looking for Clarissa. He smiled to himself. She liked her nickname but he really liked Clarissa, saying her name when they were being passionate did something to him. A smile came across his face when he saw her talking to another officer. He headed over and waited for her to finish up.

"They woke you up, at this ungodly hour too?" Clarissa asked, with a disappointing look on her face. What could be so important, that the two of them, we needed in the middle of the night.

“Yes,” Jayden nodded. “It seems we’re having sensor issues and we are the team assigned to find the problem. My orders are that they are getting false readings.” He smiled at her then. She looked less than happy. “Hey! At least we get to solve it together!”

"Do they realize, that we were sleeping, and there are other officers, on duty?" She asked, she wondered if this way payback, for ending things with Paul. She was tired, and very agitated. "After we get done with this, i'm crashing at your place, its closer than mine." She said, as she wanted to hit the bed, really hard.

“I’m good with that,” Jayden replied with a smile. “I have early shift tomorrow so I am hoping we can solve this quickly. Though if it takes a while I can call off on it.” Truth be told he was kind of irritated at being up in the middle of the night as well but it was a part of their jobs. “Shall we see what we can find out here?” He asked her.

Clarissa just gave him an annoyed look, "if you were not so damn cute, that comment would have annoyed me." She piointed out to him, with a sly remark. She was very tired, and followed his lead. She had just completed a 12 hour shift, earlier. It was the reason, they did not see each other that night. And she had just fallen asleep, when the call came in.

“Once we get this solved.” Jayden said. “I’ll come over and give you a massage so you can go back to sleep.” She looked so tired he felt sorry for her.

"No you wont, you know those hands will lead into sex. But I promise, I'll make it up to you. And is very sweet of you to offer. But you need your sleep too." Clarissa told him. Just thinking about him, putting his hands on her, gave her excitement chills.

Jayden smiled. “I can’t argue with your logic because it is sound.” Anytime he touched her he couldn’t help but want to make love to her. He cleared his throat. “I have it bad for you.”

"Right now have it bad for this problem, so we can go back to bed." Clarissa said a little grumpy. She liked what he said, but she was tired and wanted to go to bed.

“Let’s take a look then,” Jayden smiled. “So you can go back to bed.”

"Now were talking, how much longer till we get there!" Clarissa stated, in a tone of annoyance.

Jayden smiled. “Here we are, let’s check the diagnostics and see if we detect any issues with the sensor relay.”

Clarissa began to start her scans on the relay. "I noticed, you started to call me Clarissa." She said, wondering why that was. She was so use to be called Rissie. It sounded strange, but in a good way.”

“I think the name is beautiful,” Jayden replied as they worked. “And I like the way it sounds when I say it, like I am caressing your skin.” Would she think he was bizarre?”and I like it that I am the only one I have heard call you that.”

"Nick names are given, to make things more convenient Jayden, speaking of which, why don't you have one?" Clarissa asked him, as she just of that.

“No one’s ever shortened it,” he shrugged. Jayden wasn’t finding any issues with their systems yet. “What would you shorten it to?”

"Could call you Daddy!" She said playfully, trying to be humorous. She actually likied the name Jayden. And she did not want to call him Jay.

Jayden laughed. “That’s okay I like Jayden.” She always found a way to make him laugh.

"Me too." Clarissa said, as started to scan another bulkhead near by. "This one, right here." Clarissa said, as she pulled off the panel board. One little relay, making so much chaos.

“It is always something so minor,” Jayden murmured as they went to work to replace it. “I am just glad we found it right away.”

"Me too." Clarissa said, as they completed the simple task that in her opinion could have waited till their shift. Someone was going to get their ass chewed. "Let's get to bed, call this in, so we can go to your place." Clarissa suggested in a tired and annoyed voice.

“I’ll make the call,” Jayden said with a smile. He quickly informed the bridge that the sensor issue was taken care of and then turned to her. “Let’s go to my place and I will give you that massage.”

"No Jayden, you know I want sleep." Clarissa said, with a tired voice. She knew a massage would lead to sex. She was really tired.

“It won’t,” Jayden replied. “I can see how tired you are, a massage will help you fall to sleep faster. I will not start anything.” He meant it, she looked worn out.

"NO." Clarissa said again, as she started to gather up her items. She admired his resolve, but she was to tired. She decided she would make it up to him tomorrow. Well later today. It was already early morning. She just wanted to get back to sleep. She really liked him, and she really liked the idea of sex with him, but more than anything. She just wanted to sleep. She grabbed his hand, and rested her head on his arm. She was tired.

They walked by his quarters, she stopped in front of his door, waiting for him to open it. She barely made it to the bed. As she fell over and started to snore. She did not bother to get out of uniform or even get undressed. She was out to the world.

The next morning came, and Clarissa woke up first. She was tucked in, and started to rub her hand on his chest. They had spooned for the rest of the night. Clarissa felt bad about last night. She let her hands start to travel south. This was the moment of truth, will he let her or not. She assumed he would.

Jayden’s eyes opened lazily and he smiled at her. “I am yours,” he whispered. “To do as you will.”

Later, they laid in bed, Clarissa’s head on his shoulder l, Jayden’s hand absently caressed her shoulder. “I’m thinking breakfast later...before we head to work?”

"Aren't you glad you waited till I got some more sleep." She asked, feeling a little sweatie, and exhausted. Despite feeling that way, she felt very energized for the morning. She continued to lay on his chest, as she said. "Sure," she said as she grabbed his hands, and interlocking their fingers.

“I hated getting up in the middle of the night,” Jayden grinned. “But now I am just glad we are together. I just like being with you.”

"Sorry I was a bitchy last night. Did not want to take it out on you. But honestly, that could have been handled today. Sure a little inconvenient, but nothing that required a middle of the night wake up." Clarissa pointed out, as she held him close by.

“I agree,” Jayden sympathized. “I wonder who sent us out at that time and it also seems weird they chose both of us.”

"Who ever it is, can expect an ear full from me." Demanded Clarissa. She was still a little tired, but trying not to take it out again on Jayden. She hated being a bitch last night.

“I was pretty wiped out too,” Jayden admitted. “All I wanted to do was stay in bed. But the positive thing is I have you to wake up with so I am not so irritated.”

"You sure, it was not that morning surprise. That has you out of bed." She hinted, with a playful tone.

“Might be part of the reason,” Jayden smiled. “But I will take spending time with you any day.”

"I prefer our nights, be shared in bed. Not dealing with some mediocre task." Clarissa said, as she started to get out of bed, she was naked, as she walked over the vibe sonic shower.

Jayden enjoyed the view and stretched. He got up off the bed and headed after her. “I bet the boss knew you would get the job done.”

"We got it done." She said, as she dragged him into the sonic vibe shower. "The captain wants to talk to me today, not sure what about." She said, as she started to wash off.

“You don’t have any idea?” Jayden replied. He hoped it was a promotion. She deserved it.

"No." Clarissa said, she had no idea, that she was going to be offered an engineering position position on the bridge. She did not feel comfortable on the bridge. She would prefer to be in engineering.

“You are a hard worker and it shows,” Jayden said with a smile. He wanted her career to take off but he hoped she wasn’t being transferred. Did that make him selfish or bad?

"Hey I just do my part, and its not a one way street. You are an incredible operations officer, I wanted you to know that." Clarissa pointed out to him. She was very proud of him.

“Thanks,” Jayden smiled at her. “I like my job and I think that helps.”

"Were a good team, Jayden. Glad I found you." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face. She was very happy that she met and started to fall in love with him. She was not ready to admit that, it was still to early.

“What time is your meeting,” Jayden replied. “He didn’t want to hold her up, it was important to be on time.

"In a couple of hours." Clarissa said, knowing she needed to head to engineering first. She was not looking forward to the meeting. She rather be down at engineering.

“It will be fine,” Jayden tried to make her feel better. “You haven’t done a thing wrong and everyone says what an exceptional engineer you are.”

"Someone trying to get laid again?" Clarissa asked him, wondering why he was sucking up so hard.

Jayden smiled. “I just always want great things for you. Simple as that.”

Clarissa wrapped her arms around him, and looked into his eyes. "And...." She said to him, she wanted him to admit it. When she noticed he was not responding. She started to think on how much she liked it as well. Then she went on. "Nothing is just simple. But at least I have you by my side." She said, deciding to let him off the hook, with her and comment.

“Are you ready for me to say it,” Jayden asked her. “Once I do, it can’t be taken back.” She was the one who wanted to take things slow.

"Slow down turbo, don't ruin the moment." Clarissa pointed out to him. Fearing what he was going to say. she was trying to get ready to leave. They still had to get to work, the last thing she needed right now, was to think about Jayden being in love.

“Right,” Jayden said. He put his uniform on. “I’m ready when you are.” He should have kept his mouth shut. She had a lot going on today.

"My man looks good in his uniform." Clarissa suggested to him. Even though she was not ready to say it, she wanted him to know, she cared for him.

“Thanks,” Jayden smiled at her. He silently reminded himself she wasn’t looking for love and made a promise to himself that he would steer all conversations away from it. “Good luck with the Captain.”

"Thanks, Ill need it." Clarissa said, as the scene starts to fade away.
