Episode 1 - Pioneering Spirit
Location: Earth
Timeline: MD000 Pre USS Pioneer
Larim was in bed, Lwaxanna by his side. Their son in the next room, dead to the world. Life was good. The family looked the picture of peace and tranquility. That was until that peace was rather rudely violated by a shrill beeping. Larim rather comically fell out of bed and jammed his leg pretty good. Naturally Lwaxanna busted out laughing.
"Just go see if the kid's still asleep!" he said, in mock annoyance. "I'll see what that god awful noise it." She mock saluted and went off. Larim searched and found that it was his office console. "This had better be important!" he said to no one in particular. "Stupid brass. Think they have the right to wake up people whenever they want." he said.
He didn't care enough to put on a uniform, just logged in as he was. "If they're gonna get me up at this hour, they get what they asked for." he thought.
A fifty something Admiral appeared on screen, one well known for his gruff personality."Lieutenant Myles, good morning. I hope I didn't get you at a bad time." he said,
"You know you did, you pain in the..." Larim thought but dared not say. "Just sleeping Admiral, but I can do that any night." he said, lame joke button pushed. Naturally the Admiral wasn't in the mood.
"That you can, Lieutenant. I need you in my office as soon as you can get there. Comforto out." the said, terminating the link
Lwaxanna came out of the boys bedroom. "What was that all about?" she asked.
"Admiral Comforto wants to see me, now." he said, pulling an uniform out of the closet. He began to dress. The couple rolled their collective eyes.
"Well, good luck." she said.
"I'll probably need it." Larim replied. He kissed his wife and walked out the door.
