Mission: Episode 7 - Home Again
Location: Main Lounge
Timeline: MD003 1400 hrs

Lyna was in love with Paul Michael.

Scuttlebutt on the ship said that Paul wasn't seeing Rockwell anymore. Lyna was happy. Maybe she had a chance with him now that she was out of the picture.

Lyna knew that Paul would probably be in the lounge. His shift was over and he'd be there for his dinner.
She decided to go to the lounge and see if she would strike up a conversation with him, that maybe could lead somewhere.

Lyna walked into the lounge and looked around for Paul. She spotted him sitting at a corner table. alone. reading a padd, and eating what looks like a salad.

Paul stabbed at his salad. On the padd, he was filling out a transfer request.
After his last mission, he returned to his quarters and found all the clothes that he left at Clarissa's quarters, and all her clothes gone. He tried to contact her, but she never responded, and he had no idea why she seemingly broke things between them off.

Lyna stopped by the food dispenser and got an iced tea, then she walked over and stopped at his table. "Is this seat taken?" She asked, looking at him.

Paul looked up. "Please." He stood up and gestured to the empty seat.

Lyna sat. "Thank you." In her mind she had numerous conversations with him, by now, face to face, all she could do was say "thank you".
Desperate to make small talk, Lyna saw the padd he was working on. Pointing to the padd, "Anything interesting?"

Paul turned the padd over. "Nothing important." He took a sip of his drink. "How are things in security these days?"

"Same as almost every other day." she replied.

Paul picked up his glass and took a sip. "You enjoying your time on the ship? People treating you all right?"

"It's been fine here...everyone is treating me very well. What about you? Everything the way you want it to be?", he asked.

Paul got a pained look on his face. "Well....work has been good....but something happened personally that hit me rather hard. I've been seeing someone, and I thought it was going well, but when I returned from a mission, things fell apart." Paul was surprised he was telling this stranger his problems. "I shouldn't bother you with my problems."

"No, it's okay. Sometimes a person needs to talk, it helps to have a sympathetic ear." Lyna almost laughed to herself, she was not one to share her own feelings with anyone, but she liked him, and she felt this was the right thing to do.

"Well, it all started....."

They sat talking for 3 hours.

Paul checked the time on his padd. "I'm sorry....I've kept you here for 3 hours. I have duty in 6 hours, and I'm sure you do as well." He stood. "It was nice talking to you."

Lyna looked up at him. "Maybe we can get coffee or a drink sometime?"

Paul smiled. "Yea...that would be good. I should be going. Take care."

Paul left the lounge, while Lyna watched him leave.

She hoped their next meeting would end differently.
