Last time on Star Trek Pioneer

Quinn had gathered his team, the assault to reclaim the central command had begun, he looked over at his team. Jackson and Zano where hurt in the initial onslaught.

"Petty Officer Jackson and Lieutenant Zano, will head back to the ship, I need Jerane with me, we will distract Zelora. Meanwhile Vaebyn and Lyna free the council members. I want Diari and O'Rourke to stay near the computer terminal, to make sure the Cardassians do not raise the shields on this compound. I hate to split up, but if we are going to pull this off we need to divide our tasks." Quinn said, as he looked at each team, then sent them on their way.

Now the Conclusion....

Hermia heard a commotion, looking out a near by window. She observed the Pioneer coming in for a landing. She looked worse for wear, there was a hull breach and Hermia feared for the crew.

Diari was on her shoulder "I leave them alone for five minutes and look at the state of them." she sarcastically remarked.

She walked back to the computer console and pulled the panel under it clear , exposing the circuitry "Doctor, would you care to join me in some surgery? I plan to do a Cardie shield control -ectomy", getting a couple of tools from her pocket.

"I'd be delighted, Lieutenant." Hermia said. "I'll follow your lead."

"Right, you see that box there with the orange blinking light ? That's a tamper sensor, will go off when I start surgery, any ideas on doing a bypass ?

Hermia looked at the system, it had been a long time since she'd done those engineering courses for non-engineers at the Academy, so she searched her mind for anything relevant. "The tamper sensor is like a pain impulse from nerve." She said. "Why don't we wire the sensors output back in on itself, that way the message would never reach the alarm system." She said.

"Hope it doesn't overload with the messages it's going to send when we're finished" El replied.

"If the systems here are as lax as Spacedock, should be able to get shield control routed here, by restarting this in safe mode" El explained with a tinge of pride at a prank played long ago, as restarted the unit.

"Sounds like there is an interesting story there." Hermia said.

Random script filled the screen as El cracked her knuckles and typed as the script continued, then the screen went black. there was an ominous pause, then a simple cursor popped up

"Yes !" she screamed pumping the air with her fist "Come to Mummy, computer"

El ducked back down under the keyboard, pulled out a couple of isolinear rods, and snapped them.

"Now for some fun." She smirked.

Three Cardassian guards looked to the sky as the Pioneer streaked across there was smoke of various colors billowing from behind the vessel. The ship pitched and yawed as it was on it's descent course. The Cardassians cheered as from their prospective the ship had been shot down. They followed the Pioneer across the sky and that was when they noticed the two women in Starfleet uniforms hacking the shield generators. Two of them trained their disruptors on the intruders while the third made his way to their location. "I would stop whatever you are doing if I was you..."

"Oh, good you're here, I'd like to complain about the level of your computer security, and complete lack of room service." El shouted over, trying to distract them.

Hermia rose and fired her phaser twice. One hit the lead guard and the second it the door controls, sealing the durainum reinforced blast doors and locking out the Cardassians. "I'm sure you know, that's not going to stop them for long." Hermia said. "How much longer 'til the shield's down?" She asked.

"About.... now." El replied, finishing up.

A large bang echoed from above, then the tearing of of metal. As the charred shield generator fell off the roof, passing the window.

"Wasn't expecting that- thought it would just short out. Oh well, I call dibs on the Iridium in it." El sighed.

The two guards did not know what hit them. They were thrown back from both the phaser blasts and the doors lowering. However, they realized what the ladies were up to. So rather then try to get the door open they simply triggered a silent alarm. It would put everyone in the compound on alert and cause the leadership to disperse. For the order never dies.

"Oops." Hermia said as the alarm blared. "Now that the shield is down," She said looking at the pile of metal that used to be the generator. "Can you beam us out of here?" She asked.

"Sure" El replied "Can't get us on the Pioneer, but I'll get us right beside it." She tapped out a few commands "Hang on, it'll be a bit bumpy, the ACB's not tight enough for my liking."

Hermia said a little prayer as the transporter beam enveloped her.

El rolled her eyes, as the transporter cycled.

Hermia materialized on the nacelle just behind the Bussard collector, while El slid down the pylon, and finally landed in a heap at the junction between the pylon and the hull.

"Somebody needs to have a word with them about their targeting scanners." Diari complained, rubbing her shin.
