Mission:
Episode 12 - Risin' To Risa
Location: After 11 - Deck 11 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD010 2030 hrs
Marisol had told Azure about her new boss and had arranged a meeting with her.
Marisol had chosen the After 11 Lounge for the two Andorians to meet as a kind of neutral ground.
Azure now sat at a table nursing a beer.
Thex walked into the room nervously. She'd always been nervous around other Andorians given her trust issues. Still Azure looked nice enough from the table. Getting herself a rum and coke She walked over and gave a simple. "Hello."
"Hi Thex, take a seat. Marisol tells me you sure my animosity for the Andorian Empire." Azure said.
"You could say that." Thex said as she took a seat. " So Marisol said you're genetically engineered?" She inquired.
"Yes, a geneticist was trying to increase the fertility of his fellows in an Andorian colony. He attempted this by adding DNA from other Federation species to Andorian DNA in order to make a new more fertile Andorian race. I was a partial success, he produced four viable offspring, these were myself and my three 'brothers'. Unfortunately the males were all infertile. The government found out about his work and shut it down, he was imprisoned, his data destroyed and we were exiled from Andorian space as abominations." Azure explained.
Thex let out a sigh before replying. " Usual behaviour from the race that took two decades to decide which shade of grey the embassy on Earth would be painted."
"Indeed. Recently I received a message from the Chancellor, by way of one of his officials. Now that I've made something of myself, all is forgiven and if I return, I will be received with open arms and a feast will be arranged in my honour." Azure said. "I told them they can stuff it up their six." She added wit a smile.
"Must be getting desperate if they did a one eighty that quickly. " Thex replied. " Why can't our race have just asked for help rather than been so pig headed?"
"Pride and a fear of showing weakness, would be my guess." Azure said.
"That pride could see are race become extinct." Thex said before she shook her head. "Sorry it's wrong of my to dump this all on you."
"Its fine, its good to have someone to commiserate with." Azure replied.
"Thanks." Thex replied as she tried to change the subject. " So how are you finding the ship?"
"Good. I have found a family in the Corps, have a loving girlfriend, and the CMO helps me hone my medical skills by allowing me to have shifts in Sickbay." Azure said.
"Good to see Starfleet a home for all of us outcasts of Andor." Thex replied with a grin.
"Outcasts of Andor, sounds like a rock group." Azure said returning Thex's grin.
"It does doesn't it. Pity I'm useless with an instrument." Thex replied.
"Its okay, I can't sing." Azure said with a smile.
"That makes two of us." Thex chuckled in reply. " So what do you do around here in your free time."
"I'm a trained botany and herbal medicine, so I enjoy gardening." Azure said. "I also enjoying a good workout either in the gym or on the holodeck."
"Well snap for the last bit. " Thex replied." I prefer swimming myself along with my dancing."
"Both excellent forms of exercise." Azure said. "I've heard a rumour that the CMO is a good dancer." She added.
"I'll have to ask her about it." Thex responded.
Changing the subject, Azure asked. "So, have you met anyone yet that you'd like to get to know better?"
"Oh I'd like to get to know everyone a little better. Plenty of time for it when the ship get's underway." Thex replied with a grin.
"Very clever. I meant is there anyone you've met, so far that you find attractive?" Azure said,
"Oh, you mean in the Khardillye's way." Thex replied with a smirk.
"Yes." Azure said taking another sip of her beer.
"Well, I'm up for some fun if anyone else wants some." Thex replied with a grin. "But right now I want to focus in getting the ship sorted out."
"Sounds like a plan." Azure said.
"Indeed. You know anything about the place were heading to?" Thex inquired.
"Nothing other than then what's in the after action reports from the first contact with the Jutrai and that we're heading to one of their colony worlds." Azure replied.
"Well I've managed to wrangle an aquatic drone system from the USS Hong Kong. Wonder what were going to find." Thex wondered.
"Indeed." Azure said. "let me know if you discover any new plants, I'm a botanist as well as a Marine." She added.
"I'll do my best, but most likely I'll be in an office making sure the drone doesn't get damaged." The officer replied honestly.
Azure smiled. "No problem. Maybe I'll have a chance to get some part samples, once the mission is complete."
"Maybe I could get to swim in the ocean when it's all done. " Thex added.
"If you do, I wouldn't mind joining you." Azure said.
"Well, I'll see what we can arrange," Thex replied before a beeping made her look to her combadge. " Sorry, the latest supply shipments arrived. It been nice talking with you Azure."
"You too, Thex." Azure said. "Let me know when we can go swimming."
