"Hey Ameri, looks like Enya found someone new to eat with." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face. As she joined Ameri at the lunch table she was sitting at. she noticed that Enya went to sit with Kalina Solwick.

“Yes,” Ameri smiled at Clarissa. “I’m glad she is making some friends, I just wish they were more her own age but I swear there are times I think she is older than I am.”

"There is no other kids on this ship around her age, not yet." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face. She had a feeling now that Tyler had his wife on aboard, hopefully soon enough, there would be kids.

“It has been hard for her,” Ameri admitted. “I feel for her but she has adjusted and is handling it much better than I expected.”

"Do you think the Captain, will turn this into a family ship, any time soon?" Clarissa asked, thinking someday soon, she would like to have a child with Jayden. Not today, but someday soon.

“I would say yes,” Ameri said with a smile. “Just my opinion of course, he hasn’t said anything but he does like children and I am sure he would like one or two of his own.”

"I think Enya would be thrilled, if there was more children on the ship. At least, she will not have social anxiety issues, when speaking to adults." Clarissa suggested, with a big grin on her face.

“It is her dream,” Ameri replied. “In some ways the lack of other children has matured her faster than other children her age. I would like to see her enjoy her childhood more.”

"Have you thought about transferring to a station?" Clarissa asked, she debated that very question. If she had a child with Jayden, she would want to move to a station, to raise the child and be apart of a support starship crew. That way, she could still work on being a department head.

“Quinn and I have discussed it and other options,” Ameri said with a smile. “At the moment he is happy where he is but the time will come where he will accept a promotion.”

"What about you? Have you thought about command?" Clarissa asked, thinking that Ameri, would be a great second officer or even a first officer.

“I have,” Ameri nodded. “In order for that to happen the timing and position that Quinn took would have to be right. Maybe on a base where he could have a command and I could serve elsewhere within it. We agreed that we would not separate our family.”

"I can respect that, I hope I have that conviction, when I start a family with Jayden." Clarissa said, as she looked to Ameri. To see how she was going to respond to her comment about her and Jayden starting a family. She hoped Ameri would give her blessing. She was nervous, if Jayden would be receptive to the idea.

“I believe you will,” Ameri said with a smile. “I can see the deep feelings you have for one another and neither of you would be happy being separated. Quinn and I will support you in any way we can.”

"I know there are couples, who do the long distance thing. But I know that is not for me. I want my man by my side, helping me every step of the way." Clarissa said to Ameri.

“Jayden doesn’t seem like the long distance type either.” Ameri added. “I don’t think either of you have a thing to worry about. Starfleet is accommodating.”

"I hope so, I was always taught that if you wanted to get ahead and start Fleet that you needed to put yourself out there prove to Starfleet but you would do whatever it takes in order to succeed." Clarissa pointed out to Ameri. she hopes that Starfleet, was a as accommodating as Ameri suggested. Deep down she wondered if that was true.

“When it is time for either of you to transfer,” Ameri said with a smile. “I am certain the recommendation from the captain will be that you go together. Tyler believes in family and he carries some weight.”

"I do like the new side of the captain, in the past he would have kept family back on empok nor." Clarissa's started to explain to Ameri.

“I think he’s more settled,” Ameri said with a smile. “Thinking more if his future and less about living in the moment. We all go through that.”

"I am not sure I want to go through that. My thoughts are simple. I want my man close to my side. We are a team, and we are stronger together than apart." Clarissa pointed out to Ameri.

“That is the way Quinn and I have lived,” Ameri said with a smile. “And it has worked well for us.”

"I am surprised so many couples dont put themselves first. Clearly you have shown, that you can advance your career, and not have to sacrifice family. Both of you have." Clarissa said, with a humbling smile on her face.

“Often times there is a power struggle within a marriage,” Ameri explained. “I knew when I first met Quinn that he was meant to be a captain and one day would be.” She smiled then. “I had command in my mind as well but it wasn’t a burning desire. I wanted to serve but be with Quinn and have a family. That was more important than any command position for me.”

"You can still get a command, if you wanted. I for one think you would make an excellent captain someday." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face.

“And I may,” Ameri said with a smile. “But it would have to be with special circumstance because I will be where Quinn is.”

"A station might be your best call, starting to sound like my best call too." Clarissa suggested to Ameri. She had no idea, in a few short years, how true those words would be.

“That was my thought as well,” Ameri murmured. “We could live on the station and each serve in a ship.”

"I am seriously considering it, if it becomes a problem down the road. Meaning, if we have kids." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face.

“It is good to have a plan ahead of time,” Ameri said seriously. “That way you aren’t suddenly scrambling to come up with answers.”

"I know that plans always change, I felt you were about to say that. And if they do, we will adapt. But I am hopeful that we will have the same luck as you did, keeping your family together." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face.

“I have a good feeling about you two,” Ameri said with a smile. “And you have influential friends on this ship who will say a good word for you.”

"That is appreciated, I mean that." Clarissa said, knowing darn well she was referring to herself and Quinn.

“We have come to consider you and Jayden as family,” Ameri confessed. “And family is always there for one another.”

"I know the feeling, and I know I feel the same way." Clarissa said, with a big grin. Ever since Elle left, she started to cling more to Ameri as a role model.

“Just don’t be surprised if Enya has the same attachment to you and Jayden,” Ameri said with a smile. “Last time you visited she talked about you for days.”

"She is an incredibile young lady. You both should be very proud." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face.

“We are,” Ameri nodded. “She is very smart, sometimes she amazes me with the things she comes up with.”

"You have done a remarkable job with her. You and Quinn should be proud." Clarissa said, as the scene starts to fade away.

“Thank you,” Ameri said with appreciation. There were times when she would question choices they had made and hearing this from Clarissa made her feel like they were doing well.
