| Personal History | Jek'Lar was born on Q'Onos in the Earth year of 2364. His father was a local constable and his mother a farmer and housewife. He was the middle child and as such got the brunt of his parents ire when they were angry. Jek'lar's older brother was the warrior that dad always wanted whre Jek'Lar was average in the ways of combat. Jek'Lar's younger sister is the apple of her father's eye, and her mother's idea Klingon woman. Fierce, talented and smart what more could a mother ask for. So Jek'Lar took a relaxed approach to his life, the way he saw it if he had to be the wrong one, might as well have a reason to be wrong. His parents made sure that he attended school and the warrior academy. It was here that Jek'Lar's fascination with the Klingon culture actually sparked. He learned that your family is not just you parents and siblings etc. It is every Klingon and in that thought his entire outlook reversed. Jek'Lar son of Koss became a model Klingon. Most of Jek'lar's family wanted him to join the KDF like his brother before him. However, he did not want to be around Klingons. Jek'Lar felt that everything that made a Klingon, a Klingon should be shared with the world so in 2381 he applied for entrance into Starfleet Academy on Earth. To his surprise his father Koss came around and supported the idea of joining Starfleet. By this time most Klingons had viewed humans as honorable allies, and warrior worthy of Sto'Vo'Kor. In September of 2382 Jek'Lar arrived on Earth to begin his first year Cadet training. His roommate was Bolian named Xerxes the got along famously. They spent many night exchanging stories. This is what Jek'Lar craved the knowledge of other beings. Due to his training on the homeworld Jek'Lar was fast tracked into the Security and Tactical program at the Academy. During the next three years at Starfleet Academy Jek'Lar would come to specialize in hand to hand combat, and find that he has a head for strategy. In May of 2385 Jek'Lar graduated the Academy in the upper part of his class. He was granted the rank of Ensign and sent to his first assignment Security Officer aboard the USS Tomahawk. Upon arrival aboard the Tomahawk Jek'Lar met a man named Eric Watson who was the CSTO. Eric would come to mentor the young Starfleet Officer. Teaching him to temper the boisterous Klingon ways with a dash of humility and solitude. Eric and Jek'Lar became the closest of friends to the point that Jek'Lar was the best man at Eric's wedding. In September of 2387 fate would step in for Jek'Lar again. It seemed on the eve of a large scientific conference Eric fell ill with the Iruddian Flu. The conference which was occurring between Romulan and Federation scientists was being held aboard the Nebula Class Tomahawk. Jek'Lar took charge while Eric lay in Sick Bay, because of his leadership and planning the event went off without a hitch. Jek'Lar received a promotion to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade for his hard work and meritorious service. A few months later in January of 2388 Jek'Lar was ordered to transfer to the USS John Adams as the Assistant Chief Security/Tactical Officer. The next three years passed and were standard as Starship life went. Jek'Lar stayed in touch with Eric and made new friends of his own. However, at this point in his life he was ashamed of one thing. There were little to no love interests. One guesses that it would have to take a tough human woman to want to deal with a Klingon. In 2391 Jek'Lar was given a promotion to full Lieutenant for meritorious service. It is at this time that he is also given the position of Chief Security/Tactical Officer for the USS John Adams. During the next three years Jek'Lar's eyes opened. Before this time he had wanted to command a starship. Now he wants to return to Earth and become the Head of Starfleet Security. Jek'Lar had found his calling, using the way of the warrior to protect as opposed to advance in territory or prestige. In 2394 Starfleet orders Jek'lar to transfer to the USS Archimedes and report to Captain Nn'khiy Solius for duty as the Chief Security/Tactical Officer. He had heard of the reputation of this scientific vessel, and based on that reputation Jek'Lar smiled as he looked at the PADD. The smile was because if this ship's reputation was half right then he found his home. Two years later Jek'Lar was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and made the Executive Officer of the Archimedes. This glory would be short stayed as he is transferred to the Klingon Embassy on Earth. There he toils to keep the strenuous peace with his people. In 2397 Jek'Lar would be promoted again to Commander and transferred to Empok Nor to take over as Chief Strategic Operations Officer for the sector. This new assignment could bring new glory and and old flame. |
