Mission: Episode 11 - Family Matters
Location: Sickbay - Deck 5 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD004 1100 hrs

Lyna hadn't been feeling well the last couple of days, which was unusual for her, she always took care of her health, so this feeling was making her nervous. She decided to head to Sick Bay to try to alleviate those nerves.

She entered sickbay and looked for one of the doctors.

Hermia was calibrating a biobed, when the Sickbay doors opened and an attractive Bajoran Ensign wearing the gold of Security entered.

Approaching her, Hermia asked. "Ensign, I'm Dr. O'Rourke, how can I be of assistance?"

"Ensign Auba Lyna." She looked at her. She thought she knew what was wrong, but she wanted to make sure. "I haven't been feeling well the last couple of days. I'm very nervous. I've been planning my wedding to Paul Michael....and I think, but I'm not sure..I might be pregnant."

"Okay, let's take a look." Hermia said leading her to a biobed. "Haven't you and Lieutenant Michael been taking your contraception injects?" She asked.

Lyna looked embarrassed. "I may have skipped one....or two...but I'm sure Paul was taking his...or at least I hope he was."

"Planing a wedding is very stressful, that could explain your symptoms, I'll just take a blood sample so we can make sure either way." Hermia said attaching a hypo to Auba's arm. She extracted some blood and placed in the analyzer. "We'll have an answer in a few minutes." She told the younger woman. "So, how many guests are you going to have at your wedding?" She asked in an attempt to calm her.

Lyna looked at the doctor. "We were hoping to keep it to a few people as possible...neither of us want a big ceremony. He wants a simple ceremony. I'd like a traditional Bajorian ceremony. So we still have to discuss that."

Hermia smiled. "I'm glad you're both on the same page when it comes to wedding size." She said. "My ex-husband and I were at odds when it came to the ceremony, maybe I should have taken that as a sign." She added.

"Paul is fantastic about everything. He's so easy going. I think he'll let me have my wedding idea." Lyna smiled and blushed slightly as she thought of her betrothed.

"I'm glad." Hermia said sharing the younger woman's smile. She checked the results. "You're not pregnant, but you do have an iron deficiency, its probably due to the stress of the wedding planning. I'll give you some iron tablets to take with food and I recommend you find some time to relax."

Lyna looked at the doctor. "That's a relief...I guess." She started to tear up. "I'll make sure to get some rest, doctor, thank you." She moved towards the doors.

"Glad I could help, Ensign." Hermia said. "I hope your wedding day goes well." Hermia watched as the Ensign exited, she hoped that the young woman would find time to relax.
