Mission: Episode 10 - New Home, Same Pioneers
Location: Operations Chief Office
Timeline: MD007 1500 hrs

Ameri sat in her office, having spoken with Ensign Robertson and waited for her next meeting with Lieutenant Junior Grade Fairburn. She had a few reports to finish up and there was a little while before he was scheduled to arrive.

She thought the meeting with Ensign Robertson had gone well. He was still learning but eager to step up and always was willing to do as asked. That went a long way with her.

Silvian stepped through the doorway and stood there for a moment and offered a smile to his superior, "Hello chief, I'm reporting in as you asked."

Ameri smiled at him. “Thank you for coming. Please, have a seat, I would like to talk to you about some duty assignment changes but first, can I get you anything to drink?”

"Water, please," Sylvian replied with a smile as he entered further and took his seat, "you have some assignment changes?"

“I would like for you to pick up some of the Assistant Ops officers work,” Ameri said with a smile. “Until another one is appointed. Ensign Robertson will be covering some as well.”

"I see," Fairborn said with a nod, "I'd be happy to help out any way I can." He smiled and nodded, "thanks for considering me."

“You are hard working and that has not gone unnoticed by me,” Ameri replied. “Through all the transitions of operations chiefs you have been steady and reliable. I see your career moving along soon.”

Sylvian nodded, "thank you chief," he smiled at the woman, "I do my best."

“Is there anything you would like to talk to me about,”‘Ameri asked him. “Any concerns or ideas you may have?”

Fairborn thought for just a moment and then tilted his head, "I was wondering about the possibility of servicing the conduits and updating the control panel in Jeffries tube 8, the conduit shows wear on their outer casing but haven't failed yet and the control panel circuitry and programs are four generations out of date."

“That is an excellent plan,” Ameri agreed with him. “Please see to this and assign anyone in the department to assist you.” She was impressed with Fairburn and intended to speak with Captain Malbrooke about him.

Sylvian smiled, "I'd rather be proactive than wait for a problem." He chuckled, "wish I'd carry that into the rest of my life."

“That is all I have for you,” Ameri said with a smile. “You are dismissed unless you have something else?”
