Mission: Episode 10 - New Home, Same Pioneers
Location: Rockwell Quarters/Ó Flannagáin Residence
Timeline: MD006 1800 hrs

Clarissa smiled, as she started to try on her cute summer style dress, she did not want to dress up to fancy, but at the same time, she did not want to show up in her uniform. She was facing the mirror, when she noticed Jayden walking into the room.

“Honey I am home,” Jayden said, smiling at her as he stopped in the doorway as she put the dress on. “You look fantastic in that.” He pushed away and headed over. “I have yet to decide what I am wearing. Maybe my Henley with dress jeans.”

"Thanks, what about you? You changing over?" Clarissa asked, noticing he was still in his uniform. She wondered why that was. They agreed to meet first in her quarters. Before heading over. This was suppose to be a casual dinner, not a state of affairs dinner.

“I was running late,” Jayden explained. It seemed faster to stop since I have to pass your quarters to get to mine and let you know. My clothes are already out on my bed so it won’t take me long to change.”

"For the love god, please do not wear a ship replicated t shirt. I know how much you love those shirts." Clarissa pointed out to him. She personally hated them. She hated seeing the silhouette of the Pioneer, and the name below the silhouette.

“I was going to wear the Henley you gave me,” Jayden replied with a smile. “I have been saving it for a special occasion.”

"I like the black one on you, makes you look sexy." Clarissa said to him, with a sexy tone. She loved seeing her man all dressed up for her.

“I thought you would,” Jayden grinned. “I have a pair of black dress jeans and I’ll change my shoes, put on some cologne and I’ll be all set.”

"Trying to get lucky later night, Mister Robertson." Clarissa asked, knowing he was doing that for her benefit. She did like a sharp dressed man.

Jayden smiled at her. “Trying to do my part in pleasing you as you do for me.” He likes how they both wanted the other happy.

"You think you need to please me?" Clarissa said, with a big warm hearted smile. She loved the fact, he wanted to please her. She loved to please him as well.

“I do,” Jayden replied smoothly. “It is what you do when you care about someone.” He smiled at her. “Not only do I need to, I want too.”

Clarissa grinned from ear to ear, as she looked at him. "Get changed over, we need to head over to the Ó Flannagáin's." Clarissa pointed out to him.

Jayden changed his clothes and put on some cologne. He smiled to himself as he put his shoes on, then headed out. “I am looking forward to this.”

A short time had passed, and Jayden met up with Clarissa, they were now heading over to the Ó Flannagáin's residence. Clarissa was not sure what to expect when they arrived. "You got this." Clarissa, seeing that Jayden was a little worried. They were almost to the Ó Flannagáin's door.

Jayden smiled at her. “It will be fine we are just having dinner with my boss and the first officer.” He was a little nervous but decided to try and put that aside.

"you could look at is, as having dinner with Quinn, Ameri and Enya." Clarissa pointed out to him, hoping using their first names would make it easier on him.

“She did say it was dinner as friends,” Jayden nodded. He felt a little more comfortable. “Why aren’t you nervous at all?”

"Wouldn't you like to know." Clarissa said, as the approached the door way. Clarissa tapped on the intercom.

Enya heard the buzzer and opened the door, looking at the couple.

“Welcome,” She said with a smile as she moved to the side. “I am Enya, the O’Flannagians Butler daughter.”

Clarissa chuckled as she said with a grin. "I see, and where are we off to this fine day? Perhaps the study? Or the hospitality room?" Clarissa said, in her best british accent.

“To the parlor,” Enya grinned, liking Clarissa’s response. “If you would follow me I will take you to Lord Quinn, my father awaits.”

"Please my lady." Clarissa said, as she gave a humble bow. She looked over to Jayden, her eyes said, you better bow. She had a smile on her face, but her eyes stared at Jayden to see what he did.

Jayden bowed to Enya and winked at her. “Lead on, my lady.” He was relaxing just from the bosses daughter. They followed her across the room just as Quinn and Ameri walked out.

“You Lord and your Highness,” Enya said with a grin. “Your loyal subjects have arrived. Shall I collect refreshments?”

"Sorry about that guys." Quinn said, with a big grin on his face. He thought to himself, to have a conversation with Enya later. About miss representing the family. "She gets bored, and comes up with creative ways to entertain herself."

"Not a problem at all sir, I can see the appeal in it." Clarissa said, with a small wink towards Enya. Clarissa walked into the room, and looked around.

Enya smiled wide at Clarissa. She was really pretty and nice. Not stuffy at all. She almost said something but decided she was already gonna be having a talk.

“Welcome,” Ameri said with a smile. “Please for this evening, call me Ameri. We are not on duty.”

"I'll do my best." Clarissa said with a big grin on her face. "Thank you for having us over." She said, wondering where to sit.

"Please sit down," Ameri waved to the couch. "Can I get you something to drink?" She moved towards the doorway.

"I'll have lemonade," Jayden said. "If you have it, please." He was trying to wrap himself around calling his boss by her first name.

"Make that two lemonades." Clarissa suggested with a warm hearted smile on her face, as she took a seat right next to Jayden. She could tell he was a little tense.

As Ameri went off to get their drinks, Enya sat down next to her dad and smiled at him. "Aren't you gonna tell me their names, Dad?" She smiled at him as she waited.

Quinn just grinned at Enya. He could tell, that she was trying to call him out. Thinking he did not know there name. But he did. "Enya meet Lieutenant Clarissa Rockwell and Ensign Jayden Robertson." He called out with a big smile on his face.

“It is nice to meet you both,” Enya said with a smile. She had hoped to catch her Dad but she should have known he would know their names.” She looked over at them. “What do you do on the ship?”

“I am in Operations,” Jayden informed her. “Pretty much what your mother tells me to.”

"They let me tinker around in engineering." Clarissa said, with a warm smile on her face, as she looked over to Enya. "What do they let you tinker around with?" She asked playfully.

“I asked my Dad for something to build,” Enya said with a wide smile. “Like maybe a model or something. I want to be an engineer someday or maybe work in security.”

Jayden grinned. “Not Operations, huh?”

“Noooo,” Enya shook her head. “It looks kind of boring to me.” She looked up as her mom returned, handing out glasses to their guests. “Shhh.”

Clarissa just grinned. She wanted to say, they do have some cute boys in operations. But she knew that Enya was to young for that. "Engineering is where all the fun is at, and we dont get shot at, most of the time." Clarissa suggested with a grin on her face.

“Yeah,” Enya nodded a few times. “I was thinking I might be happy in Engineering, I don’t want to kill people.”

Ameri smiled in relief that their daughter was leaning away from that department. She looked over at Quinn and nodded. “It is something to think about.”

"Engineering is a good field, just dont loose sight of your goal. Your own command." Quinn said, knowing that he lost sight of his goal to command his own ship.

“I won’t!” Enya said with determination. “I am gonna work hard at schools and then when I am on a ship.” She grinned. “I want to be the youngest captain ever!”

"A lot of engineers fall in love with their engines and never want to be promoted." Quinn suggested to Enya, trying to tell her subtle, to never loose sight of her goals.

“Well,” Enya said tipping her head to the side. “If I am the captain then I can just go down and tinker around whenever I want.”

“That’s my daughter,” Ameri smiled. “Always thinking.”

Quinn wanted to correct her, but he decided why not, let her have this one. She will learn soon enough. He smiled as he said, "a tinkering captain, sounds like a good captain to me." Quinn pointed out to all of them.

Jayden thought she was kind of young to know what she wanted to do with her life. She was nine. He wanted to be a doctor when he was that age and look where he ended up. He couldn’t think of anything witty to say so he just listened to the others.

“I want to change things,” Enya declared, her eyes lighting up. “No one should be stuck in some office all the time!”

Ameri smiled as she listened to Enya. She reminded her of herself when she was younger. She hoped when Enya was assigned to a Starship that the hierchy listened better.

"The office is not that bad." Quinn pointed out to Enya. "I personally like my office." Quinn suggested with a big grin on his face.

“For liking it your not there a lot,” Enya declared, imitating the look he gives her when he wants an answer. “You go places and sometimes don’t come back for a long time!”

“It’s a balance,” Ameri said with a laugh. “YourDad loves paperwork!”

Jayden really liked how their family dynamics worked. You could feel the love they and for each other.

"Oh ya, I really love it." Quinn said in a sarcastic tone, as he smiled towards Ameri's direction. "In fact Enya, if you like I would be happy to share the load with you." Quinn suggested in a teasing voice.

Clarissa liked Quinn's sense of humor, she tried not to laugh at his remark. But he was a funny man.

“No thanks!” Enya shook her head. “I have school and chores and that is enough for me.” She smiled at him. “That is unless you want to do some of my homework?” She pasted an innocent smile on her face.

“Those two will go on all night,” Ameri said to Jayden and Clarissa. “Have you two been able to go on the base at all?”

"I was thinking you could assist Sophia and be a junior yeoman." Quinn suggested to Enya, with a big grin on his face.

"Oh that could be fun Enya." Clarissa said with a big grin on her face. She thought Enya might like that, and it would give her a taste, of what Starfleet was really like.

Enya thought for a moment. “I think I’d like that.” She smiled at her Dad, then grinned.

“I think it’s a great idea,” Ameri said as she looked at Quinn, thinking it would have been nice if he had shared this with her beforehand.

"I thought you might, I will set up a meeting with you and the Captain. He will be the final say." Quinn pointed out to Enya with a big wink in his eye.

“Thanks Dad!” Enya grinned, giving him a hug. “You are the best!”

Jayden grinned, thinking he hoped one day he was as good a father as the commander. Then he shook his head what was he thinking?

Quinn releazed that he was ignoring there guests. And it made him feel bad. "Sorry about that, are you both comfortable." Quinn asked, as felt like a bad host.

Clarissa smiled as she looked at Quinn and said, "Oh yes, totally comfortable. I love seeing the family dynamics here." Clarissa said, it made her feel like the First Officer was a person, and not a title.

Ameri smiled at them. “Quinn and I knew early in that one day he would be my boss. We have this rule where we leave work at the door.”

“It seems to work well for you two.” Jayden replied, thinking he didn’t recall ever hearing them argue or have a cross word for each other. He knew they probably disagreed at times but they had found a way to handle it.

"Trust me it does, also does not hurt to share the responsibility of power at home." Quinn suggested, with a big grin on his face.

Clarissa just smirked, she thought to herself, don't get any ideas Jayden. She liked being in charge at home. But maybe that was part of the reason, he had yet to move in officially.

“We’re partners,” Ameri said with a smile. “There are times we don’t agree on things but we talk things out and make a decision that works for us.”’she grinned then. “And there are times one of us may not be happy but the other does their best to be there.”

“That is good,” Jayden said with a smile. “I love my parents but when they would argue it was time to disappear for a while.” He took a deep breath. “I say how I feel but I don’t like fighting.”

"I dont think anyone does." Quinn said with a humble smile on his face, then looked over to Ameri. "I suggest, go into every conflict, with an open mind and be willing to comprise. That is key." Quinn pointed out to Jayden.

“It is good advice,” Jayden nodded. “One I plan to remember and use.” He looked at Clarissa and smiled, thinking to himself that some day, when they were ready, he hoped they would have some of what the O’Flannagain’s did.

Clarissa just stared back into his eyes. She would kiss him right now. But that felt inappropriate to do in front of Enya. She then focused her attention back on Quinn. "Very true sir, dinner smells wonderful." She hinted, hoping it was almost ready.

“It is,” Ameri said with a smile. “I did dinner and Enya is responsible for the dessert.”

“I hope you like ice cream,” Enya said with a grin.

Jayden’s eyes lit up. “Now that is my kind of dessert. I am not picky either.”

"If I had my way, icecream would be a three course meal." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face. As she looked over to Enya.

“See!” She smiled widely at Clarissa. “Can we adopt you and you can be my big sister, take me out and we can have ice cream for dinner and stay up all night eating junk?”

Jayden grinned. “Would you then be Clarissa O’Flannagain?”

"I suppose I would, but you would have to marry into the family. Sorry." Clarissa said, with a big teasing grin on her face. And a little bit of sarcasm in her voice.

“Jayden O’Flannagain,” he laughed at that and grinned at the commander. “Will I be able to call you Dad?”

Ameri started to laugh. “There you go, Quinn. A son to go with our daughter.”

"Not exactly what I had in mind. Invite people over for dinner, and gain a new daughter and son in law." Quinn said, with a humbling smile on his face.

Clarissa's look was priceless, she was speechless. "Whoa, no one is getting married any time soon. Before this man thanks about asking me, we need to try to live together first. And he is slacking on moving in." Clarissa pointed out to the group. Throw her under buss will ya Jayden, now they were even.

Jayden’s eyes widened. He had been joking and she went and called him out. “I had planned to tell you later tonight I was ready.” He really would have rather not shared this with the others.

Enya grinned. “I want to be in the wedding, please!

"Well apparently he wants to marry into the family, so I suppose that can be arranged." Clarissa said, now changing the focus sololy on Jayden.

Quinn just laughed, as he thought to himself, nicely played Clarissa, nicely played. Reminded him, that was something that Ameri would have done to him.

“Wait a minute,” Jayden’s eyes widened. “When I ask you to marry me it isn’t going to be like this, it will be special, worthy of what you mean to me.”

Ameri smiled at his words. She spoke before either of them could say another word. “Shall we eat?”

"I am starving." Quinn said, seeing that the discussion should probably be changed, as the scene fades away. He walked over to the dinner table thinking how much fun dinner was going to be. He could tell that Clarissa and Jayden were going to be easy to get along with.
