Mission:
Episode 9 - Empok's End
Location: Empok Nor Infirmary
Timeline: MD002 1300 hrs
The doors of the infirmary swishes open and a group of about four engineers entered, looking for some kind of help. The 'self appointed' leader, an Andorian ensign spoke up.
"Help! We need some help here!"
Titania came over to meet them. "What happened?" She asked looking at her new patient.
"Its Lieutenant Myles. We were rigging a trap, because Cardassians were chasing us. Phaser fire, that whole thing. She told us to run while she rigged an EPS conduit to blow but it went off before she could get away."
"Okay, put her on that biobed and I'll see to her injuries." she said.
A low groan could be heard as the gently placed the Lieutenant on the bio bed. "Ngnn" came out of her mouth as her head hit the pillow.
Titania erected a sterile field around the young engineer. She didn't need her tri-corder to tell her that the Lieutenant had suffered extensive burns. The two main causes of death from burns were shock and infection.
Addressing the Andorian, the Doctor, explained what she was doing, in an attempt to reduce the feelings of anguish, she was receiving from him and his colleagues. "The Lieutenant is in a lot of pain, I'm going to give her a painkiller and an anti-inflammatory to bring down the inflammation and swelling. Followed by a broad spectrum anti-antibiotic." She said. "Its a good thing you got her here so quickly."
"That's a relief. Thank you doctor." The Andorian said. "I for one appreciate it." he said.
A groan came from the biobed as the Lieutenant sort of came to. "Wh...where am I?" she said
"Stay calm, Lieutenant, you're in the Infirmary." Titania said. "I'm Dr. O'Rourke, you were quite a state, but you're stable now. I was about to treat your burns." She explained.
"Thanks Doc." Lax said, wincing as she tried to sit up. She quickly laid back down. "Ok. that wasn't too smart." she laughed. "How'd I get here? Last I remember cardies were after us."
"Your team carried you here, after a EPS conduit blow and you were caught in the the blast." Titania explained. "I'm now going to take a skin sample, so I can replicate you some new skin."
"Its that bad? Do we have time,Doc? Cardies are wanting the station pretty bad you know." The Betazoid said as she sat up, nearly falling back down.
"I am aware, Lieutenant, like yourself, I'm a Betazoid and I can sense their thoughts and emotions." Titania replied. "I'll begin the procedure and it can be finished on one of the escape craft." She added taking the sample.
"You're the doctor, Doc." Lax sighed.
Titania inserted the blood sample and the machine created the new skin sheets.
Returning to the biobed, she placed the sheets to the most severely damaged places. When she was done she activated the biobed's dermal regenerator and prepared for their departure.
Once she had the gear she'd need. She placed a portable sterile field generator on Lax's belt and activated it.
"That's a portable sterile field generator, it will prevent infection." the Doctor explained while she deactivated the biobed.
Calling to the Marines that were left to guard them and help them escape, she said. "Lace Corporal, I'm going to need a hand carrying the Lieutenant to the evac site."
"Of course, Doc." He said. "Wilis, help the Doc, I'll take point."
Wilis took one of the Lieutenant's arms and helped Titania to lift her from the bed.
The two then half carried, half dragged her out of the Infirmary and down the corridor.
