Mission: The Drumhead (Empok Nor Premier)
Location: Empok Nor - Promenade
Timeline: MD003 1430 Hours

Uniform boots met deck plating as the light form of a Trill woman moved across the Promenade. Unlike most Trill, her hair was blonde rather than black or brown, and her wavy ponytail came down to the middle of her back and danced to and fro with her travel. Her dark spots also traveled from her light crown and met with her command-red uniform at her slender neck. She was radiant and her shapely body shifted with an understated feminine charm.

Over the last three years, Empok Nor had become a familiar home for her, so she walked her decks with the certainty that could only come with familiarity, though her purpose on this day in particular was quite unusual. She stopped in front of the open airlock door, wincing slightly at the number of people pouring out. Was he even here?

Then, at last, she saw him, walking out of the airlock with two huge bags in his hands; he clearly hadn't followed her direction to pack lightly. They teenage boy was tall and had blonde hair and spots much like her. He looked around the alien room looking for her, and when his finally fell on her, he offered a curt nod and made his approach.

"Big sis," he began, his sixteen year old voice having passed through its first stage and being beyond the awkward cracks of puberty. "Long time no see."

He offered a boyish smile which was laden with a cool and indifferent charm as he moved in for a hug. She put her arms around her little brother, though he now towered over her.

"You're huge." Was all she managed to say, her pouty lips shifting to form an amused smile. "Mom told me you'd grown, but...wow."

"What can I say?" He responded quickly, a prideful smile crossing his expression. "I guess it's all in me."

She rolled her eyes, but her smile intensified. Daron had always been funny, though she hadn't thought so growing up. He use to be a clown and a rebel; the sort of kid who would shove utensils up his nose at dinner and pretend to be an animal or sneak into her closet to watch her undress. She hoped he had matured.

"It was really nice for you to take me on, Nazia. I want to join Starfleet one day too and living here with you will go a long way toward teaching me the ropes. So, thanks." He said, looking down at her.

Gratitude was honestly not expected, so it caused Nazia to smile broadly. Maybe her little brother was growing up after all. She placed a hand on his arm and nodded.

"It's my pleasure, Dee." She said evenly, a maternal look on her face. "Here, let me show you to our quarters."

"Wait," he interjected, "I really want to see the station."

"First quarters." She responded decisively. "Then I'll give you the grand tour."
