Mission:
Episode 8 - The Silence
Location: Security Office - Deck 9 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD005 1310 hrs
Richard breathed in deeply as he stood directly outside the security department. Memories of years past where he had been forced to go to each department of a new assignment and inform them of his alleged status as a genetically altered human flashed through his mind. He pressed those thoughts down along with the swirl of emotions from what he had just witnessed and stepped forward activating the double doors as he did.
The physician's pale eyes searched for Larim's familiar face and at first, he didn't see it then headed directly towards his office without further hesitation.
Larim came out and saw the Doctor. To him he looked rather haggard.And judging by the padd he Carrie's, he had every reason to be. "Doc?" He said. "Come in to my office." He said
Richard nodded leaving words unspoken as he walked with a hint of urgency in his step and then took a seat across from the Chief's desk, "I need your help Commander, I was just on the phone with Adibah' and I think she was just assaulted. I tried contacting Empok nor security and was informed by the computer I couldn't."
"Let me check." He did so. "Ah. I see. It's an open case file, but I think I can get in. There!" He said. Almost immediately his eyes sank.
"Doc, I got bad news for you."
Richard's head dropped as he heard the words. He could already feel that the bond was broken but he had held out hope. The physician took in a deep breath and nodded, "go-ahead Commander, I need to know."
"Well according to this report, it's not looking to good. Your daughter was on the promenade on a school outing. And she went into a shop with two or three of her friends. And after an hour they still hadn't returned. After a search the found the other students. Your daughter wasn't found." He began
"What," the doctor blurted as his eyes widened and nearly coming out of his seat, "They can't find her?"
"Wait. There's more here. Empok security got a call to your quarters on the station. All I'm seeing in that there was an attack and it's an ongoing investigation. "
"Yes," Ricard stated furrowing his brow. He drew in a deep breath trying to calm himself, "I'll try to stay calm, stay rational."
The Azzian bit his bottom lip and he nodded, "can I stay here, I mean in the department until you get further word?"
"You sure can." Larim said.
Richard nodded diverting his gaze, "thank you, I'll try to stay out of the way."
"No problem, Doc. All the time you need."
