Mission: Episode 7 - Home Again
Location: XO's Office
Timeline: MD004 1000 hrs

Warrant Officer Mira Jayna had settled in, more or less. She'd unpacked and had a good look over the roster, but she still had a lot of questions about her new assignment. She knew that only time would answer most of them, but she did want to meet the command staff. She decided to start with the First Officer.

When she knew he would be in his office, she rang the door chime.

"Enter." Called out Quinn, looking at the time on his monitor, he knew this was his scheduled meeting with Warrant Officer Jayna. Quinn remained seated in his seat, for a moment. Then as soon as the doors opened, he stood up to greet her.

The half-Vulcan walked into the room and bowed. "Greetings, commander." She briefly scanned the room to get an idea of the personality of the XO. What people chose to keep in their office was often a good indication of who they were.

"Have a seat, Warrant Officer." Quinn said. Quinn waited patiently for Mira to take her seat. As he was waited he was already thinking of the perfect timing of her arrival. He needed an intel officer, that could help him, and Elloma solve the mystery of the USS Pioneer.

Jayna nodded and sat down quietly, waiting for the commander to ask her a question.

"How familiar are you with the Pioneer's past?" Quinn asked. He wondered how much he had to fill her in on? Did she know about the ship's crew being thrown into multiple realities, while the ship was allegedly abandon?

"A little," she admitted. "I didn't have the clearance to read too much."

"I'll fix that, I need your skills set as a information specialist for a mission that I am leading." Quinn said, being a little cryptic with his response. He paused for a moment, hoping she is intrigued.

Jayna raised an eyebrow. She was curious, but her only response was to nod. It was never good to appear too interested until she had more information.

"Long story short, and you will have access to all the data, is, that the USS Pioneer was not idle. Internal sensors have been deleted, and we are attempting to recover them. But signs point to the fact, that the ship was active for over a year. The ship was suppose to be dormant, in the anomaly." Quinn said, hoping he did not loose Jayna.

"So, while you thought the ship was dormant, someone was using it and you want to know who and for what, right?" she asked.

"Yes, that's my current side project, so far on my team is you, Chief Calhoun and Lieutenant Essu." Quinn said, as he looked over to Jayna. "Will you help us?" Quinn asked. He wanted someone with her talent set to join his team, but the call was hers. This was a side project. The project had the full support of the Captain, but they needed to solve this mystery.

"As long as it doesn't interfere with my job here, then yes, I will help you," she said. It was an intriguing question, and she wanted to help find the answers.

"Outstanding, I will work on your clearance levels. Do you have any questions for me?" Quinn said, with a big grin on his face. He could use a gal like her. The skills she could bring to his team, was invaluable.

"I'll want to read over everything you have," Jayna said. "I may have questions then. I also need to know who can be trusted, besides those on your team?"

"The Captain, and Staff Warrant Officer Masters. Most of the senior staff and the crew do not know of this mission. We have a mole, the more personnel, who know. The less likely we will catch the mole.

"I agree that this should be kept to a very few and I appreciate your caution." She had a lot of questions, but until she read over the data available, she wasn't sure which of them were pertinent. She raised an eyebrow. "You said the internal scans were deleted. Were computer access records also deleted? And replicator usage during this time?" There were a number of subsystems that recorded who used what when. Had the person responsible been that thorough? She would have to check incoming and outgoing communications as well. And long-range sensor usage through Astrometrics.

"The ship was purged, but who ever did this, did not realize, that all logs are backed to empok nor, we are still trying to piece together, exactly what happened. So far, we only have bits and pieces. Now that you are helping us, I suspect, we will finally make some headway." Quinn said, as he handed her a data pad, with all the information they had so far.

She took the PADD and thumbed through it for a moment before slipping it into one of her pockets. "I hope so." With all the data backed up, however, she had every confidence they would find the person--or persons--behind this. It was simply a matter of time. She grinned. "I look forward to the challenge."

"Glad to hear it." Quinn said as the scene starts to fade. He was so relieved to have an officer with her talents helping him. He hoped this was the missing link.
