Dana stood back and smiled, pausing to admire her new quarters and although it had taken her several days to accomplish, the task was finally complete, she had done it...all on her own, with no hired help. However the main questions would be, how long would it stay like this, with no one to clean up after her, but why distract one's self from such a great achievement.

The ship was currently on shore leave, however as she was only just settling in on the Pioneer, she didn't really know anyone that well, and the fact that she no longer had a security escort, well it all just seemed so overwhelming for her. Yes, she had begged to be rid of the escort, but it was sinking in on how they actually used to provide her with conversation and companionship, something she hadn't realised.

Walking over to the replicator, she ordered herself her usual coffee and then made her way to her desk, logging into the console she thought she would finally contact her father, most of the ship would be off doing their own thing, so hopefully, no one would notice a call to Starfleet Comand.

"Computer, open a secure channel, Starfleet Command, Fleet Admiral Wilfred Sutherland."

The computer made one of its usual confirmation tones and the screen flicked, the usual emblem with the words 'Stand by' were displayed and just as quick the screen flickered again.

"Admiral Sutherland's Office how can...Dana, good to see you." said the chirpy middle-aged woman."

"Anita, thank you, it's been awhile. Is he in?"

"For you, I'm sure he'll make a moment. Please hold."

Again the screen flickered and Dana took a mouth full of coffee, before closing her eyes to appreciate the taste. Suddenly the screen flickered back into life.

"I'm sorry Dana, he's in the middle of an important briefing, he will get back to you as soon as possible."

The look of disappointment showed on her face, it was usual for her father to reject her calls, so the meeting really must be important.

"It's okay, I don't want him trying to get through to me here, it might raise some eyebrows, could you tell him, that I shall try him and mother at home, later this evening."

"No problem, take care."

The screen went black, and Dana gave a loud sigh, she took the final mouthful of coffee and looked around her quarters, perhaps a tour of the ship was in order, that way at least she could orientate herself and get to know her new home, plus she might actually bump into someone.
