Stepping into the forward Torpedo control room, Heidy made her way along the access pathways and onto the gantry that both crossed the loader mechanisms and a lowed access to them. She approached her Chief and attempted to get his attention. "Lieutenant Myles, there's a few things I need to discuss with you. Sir."

"Sure thing." Larim nodded. He handed off a padd to a torpedo tech. "Fire away." he said, unable to resist the joke.

Heidy tried to hide a smirk at the obvious pun. "Well sir first of all given we have a couple of occupants of our brig area. I've had a chat with the new ops chief about modifications to the brig systems specifically monitoring systems so we know they're staying put. Here take a look." Passing over a data padd with the relevant information on it.

He took the pad and eagerly began to read. He nodded as he read, liking what he saw.

"So I have your approval to implement these changes?" Heidy asked hopefully

"Run with them, Dilucca." Larim smiled

"Thank you. The next thing is what's next for these persons, a transfer to Empok Nor is a given, but what's then? What legal system do they fall under?" Heidy asked cautiously, while some of them were clearly a threat, she had questions about others and was keen not to lump them all together, keen to do somthing positive but wanting to be understand what policy and protocol affected the situation.

"I don't really know on that." Larim had to admit. "I know the CO there is Starfleet and the XO cardassian. So I'm willing to bet federation law would apply."

Heidy raised a flicker of a smile, Federation Law meant a degree of reasonableness and leeway. "That's promising sir, I've been interviewing a number of the persons taken captive, quite a lot of angry determined folks down there. But there are some who." She paused for a moment. "I get the feeling they might have been caught on the wrong side of the tracks so to speak, I think we have an opportunity here."

"I whole heartedly agree. Maybe they just got caught up in "wrong place wrong time." Larim offered. "Lets explore that feeling. Maybe I can sit in on the proceedings, perhaps behind a screen or something. Being betazoid, I can provide an extra layer of evidence of deception."

An inward sigh of relief was a followed with beaming smile that spread slowly across her face, a large amount of the tension she had up to this point melted into the background. "I would appreciate that sir, really I do, I have to tell you I was expecting to have to fight my corner on this which is never fun, but needed at times."

"Glad to help. In any way that I can." Larim said.

"I'll get things set up then, my thoughts were to spread the Interviews over the next few days three per day, the first interview at 1100 and then at three hour intervals." Heidy explained having put a fair amount of thought into the subject, as it resonated with her, the prospect of helping someone step away from a potentially destrutive course felt like she was repaying a debt "We might need an extension on transfers when we get back to Empok Nor as well, now I think of it.

"Agreed." Myles said

"Okay, I will be in touch with the time of the first interview, see how it goes." Heidy responded with a smile, glad of how well it went and deciding it was time to go while the going was good. "Until then." She turned on heal and walked across the gantry, skipping down the steps and hurring to the door.
