Mission: Episode 11 - Family Matters
Location: Ó Flannagáin Residence
Timeline: MD001 1600 hrs

Clarissa wanted to talk to Quinn about the mission, and why they sent her boyfriend. She knew this was a good opportunity for him to be seen and get on a fast track for promotion. It was still hard for her to accept the fact, that he was going on a dangerous mission disguised as a vacation.

Clarissa tapped on the intercom button to the room and waited for Ameri or Enya to respond. She was not sure, who was going to be at the door.

“Hi,” Enya said with a smile as she opened their quarter’s door. “Come in in and sit down my mom will be out in a minute.”

"Hey Enya, I swear every time I see you, that you have grown an inch or two." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face. Clarissa walked over to the sofa, and took a seat.

“Mom says I am going to be really tall,” Enya said with a grin. “Can I get you something to drink?” She asked just as her mom came in the room.”

“Clarissa,” Ameri said with a smile. “I’m sorry I wasn’t out here sooner, I wanted to change out of the uniform.”

"She was just telling me that is going to be very tall." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face.

“It won’t be long and I’m afraid I’ll be looking down at her,” Ameri laughed. “Time passes quickly.”

"Yes it does, before we know it, she will be an adult." Clarissa said, wondering what it would be like to have a child of her own. She hoped someday soon.

“I don’t think I am ready for that,” Ameri said shaking her head with a laugh. “I want to hang onto her for as long as I can.”

"I think that is the goal of every momma, isn't it?" Clarissa said, with a warm smile on her face.

“It is,” Ameri said with a sigh. “I want to see her grow up and have her dreams come true and yet hold onto her for as long as I can.”

"I hope you don't mind me stopping by." Clarissa said, as she walked over towards the sofa.

“Not at all,” Ameri said quietly. “To be honest I expected you.”

"Oh? Now I am curious." Clarissa said, with a surprised look on her face. She wondered why, she was expecting her?

Ameri smiled. “You have questions about the mission or Jayden in particular.”

"All the above." Clarissa said, wondering what Ameri knew. Clarissa hated being left in the dark.

“I hope you can get further with Quinn than I have,” Ameri said with a sigh. “He is like a closed door.” And it made her worry more and upset with him.

"I bet he is under orders not to talk about it." Clarissa said, as she started to piece together what Ameri said.

“I believe he may be,” Ameri said. “I will leave it to him to tell you.”

Enya grinned. “Moms a little upset with Dad right now.”

"I can nor believe I am defending your father. I was just hoping he told you something. Since non of us know anything. Maybe we should change the topic." Clarissa suggested to the two ladies.

“He is tight lipped about it,” Ameri confesses. “To the point where I understand that he sometimes can’t tell me but I’m irritated that he won’t. I know he is doing what he has to but...”

“It’s kind of like the Cold War,” Enya piped up. “He asks her something and it’s one word answers.” She ignored her mother’s look. “Don’t ask me though I don’t know anything either I am just a kid.”

"Someone stayed awake during social studies." Clarissa said, thinking to herself, that was pretty intense and deep for a pre teen to mention.

“I am just hearing about it,” Enya sighed. “It’s boring. I’d rather have recess.”

"I would like recess too, maybe we can ask your dad for more recess time." Clarissa said, with a teasing grin on her face.

“Yes!” Enya’s eyes lit up. “Do you think he’ll let us!”

"I'm not sure, but we can try." Clarissa said, with a big grin on her face. She had a feeling that Quinn would say no. Adult’s dont get recess.

“I can’t wait to hear your fathers answer,” Ameri said with a smile. She knew he was going to say no.

Enya frowned. “He might say yes “

Clarissa looked over to Ameri, and then over at Enya. She was not sure if Ameri could help them. "I have a feeling, you won’t have to wait long for an answer. And true he might, but he might say no too." She suggested.

“Maybe you should ask him before I talk to him about what’s going on,” Ameri said to her daughter with a smile. “I don’t know what he will say to be honest.”

Clarissa had an idea, on what he would say. Something along the lines of no. She smiled and tried to change the topic. "I think it might help, if we all went out to dinner, to lean into the idea." Clarissa suggested to Ameri and Enya.

“Yes,” Enya said with a grin. “And Mom, we can have ice cream,”

Ameri grinned. “If you think that will get a yes out of your Dad I will agree to ice cream.” She looked at Clarissa and gave her a look that said prepare for the no from Quinn.

"You can do it Enya." Clarsissa said with a cheerful smile on her face. She knew if anyone could, it would be her.

“I know how to work Dad,” Enya giggled. “I’m gonna try!”

Clarissa just grinned, she wanted to see this. She just had a big smile on her face. "I know you do."

Ameri was a little concerned that Enya was going to get her hopes up only to discover that there wasn’t additional recess. Still, Quinn might surprise them all.

"I should probably get ready for dinner tonight." Clarissa said a with a smile on her face. "Meet you all in the dinning hall?" She asked.

“Yes,” Ameri smiled. “You won’t want to miss this.” She had a feeling Enya might pull it off.
