Crew's Choice Award Crew's Choice Award
Awarded Tue Jan 1st, 2019 @ 4:54am
Nominated by Lieutenant Amelia Zano Psy.D.
Albeit new to the XO role Jay has thrown himself into it and also created two NPC familial characters to go along with his XO character. His jovial nature on Discord makes it a delight to be a part of and he has brought this further with his newest additions. He even has time to still play his other NPCs of Rockwell and Essu with great skill and imagination. I believe we would be a much duller and lifeless place without him and that is why I nominate him for this award. :) He has the Pioneering Spirit if ever there was one!

“The Pioneer has, as ever, continued to wow in terms of her quality and quantity of posting. Since taking over the sim, Malbrooke has done exceptionally with her, maintaining a large crew of 15 player characters and a post count of 55 for the holiday month. Well done!” (Oliver Lancaster, TFCO, TF-47)

What can I say about Commander O Flannagain. In the year that he has been with the Pioneer he has made himself indispensable. I thank him for his year of service and look forward to many many more.

Awarded Sat Jun 1st, 2019 @ 1:14am
Nominated by Captain Tyler Malbrooke
Since the creation of the Pioneer I have had a few Executive Officers. However, when Quinn took the job all of the pieces fell into place. He is one hell of an asset both in front and behind the scenes. I believe that he epitomizes this award. Thank you for your service to the Command Department. I know that the Pioneer would not be where it is if it were not for him. I look forward to leaning on you more and more.

"Cmdr Quinn O Flannigan took charge of the ship and kept a difficult and intricate plot running when the Captain was away on LOA. He is always available when needed and offers up interesting plot twists for my department. As a member of the community Quinn is active on the ship's Discord and checks in on everyone."
-Lieutenant Vaebn tr'Hwersuil-

"Always gives good posts to work with, not to long, not to wordy but very descriptive and effective. His descriptive writing helps to set the stage and really makes me envision where my character is. It is also refreshing to see someone play an XO who is not like Riker or Chackotay."
-Gunnery Sergeant Wilhelmina Wilson-

"I have been simming for nigh on twenty years. In that time I have worked with and under many XOs and I have to say that Quinn O Flannigan is a rare find. Like XOs of Trek fame he keeps my mind on the path of the sim. I am an idea man and as such I will often have a stroke of brilliance during a mission. I can always rely on Quinn to either make it so, or show me that it will derail the whole mission. When my mother passed I was a wreck. Quinn made sure that the Pioneer was still here for me when I got back and was ready to sim. Not only that he made sure to check up on me on a personal level. It can be very hard to be the power behind the throne as it were, and Quinn handles it with aplomb. Once more I know that I am a very hard person to work with and he keeps me in check by simply being a sounding board, and allowing me to bounce all of these ideas off of him. I have been through a few XO's since starting the Pioneer, and I truly believe that there is none better than the one I have."

Awarded Thu Aug 15th, 2019 @ 4:26am

“Normally, I’m not one for giving awards to Task Group Flagships. In fact, often times I actively avoid it as I feel to take on a Task Force Command role is to forfeit those types of awards to the sims you are the TGCO for. However, in this instance, I am awarding the UoM from the month of July to Captain Tyler Malbrooke and the crew of the Pioneer. They consistently put out a high post count while maintaining a brilliant quality, worthy of Flagship status and this award. In July alone, they put out 134 posts, an average of just over 7 posts per player, and are on track for another month that will break that 100 post level, and this isn’t a one off either! Combine that with the additional work Malbrooke does in his capacity as a TGCO and Academy Commandant while also running this great sim and the sheer degree of interaction between these people that demonstrates the kind of creativity and camaraderie this fleet is all about, and you’ll understand why I’m nominating them for this award. So congratulations to the Pioneer and her crew, this award is well earned. Keep it up!” – Oliver Lancaster, TF47 TFCO
Recruitment Award Recruitment Award
Awarded Sun Dec 29th, 2019 @ 5:47pm
Nominated by Captain Tyler Malbrooke
Awarded for his recruitment of Lieutenant Ameri O Flannagain. The addition of Ameri was a great boon to the Pioneer and as CO I am overjoyed that they are part of this sim and this community. None of that would have been possible if not for the Commander's recruitment. So on the six month anniversary of Ameri's joining the Pioneer I would like to recognize the person who brought her here.

I know that the Pioneer would not anywhere near as good as a sim that it is without Quinn. His advice, humor, and most of all writing are always welcome and to notch. There is too much to say, and not enough space. I want to thank him for being a part of the Pioneer community, for being my right hand over these years and most of all for helping me run this sim. Thank you a million times thank you. Here is to many many more years.
Most Creative Cross Sim Post Most Creative Cross Sim Post
Awarded Tue May 5th, 2020 @ 3:14am
Nominated by Captain Tyler Malbrooke
The post titled "Belly Of The Beast" is nominated for this award. This post was a cross sim post with crew of the USS Tianglong. It served a number of purposes, two of which were to show a desperate group of people who would stop at nothing. The other was to establish a plot point to be revealed further down the road. This particular plot point will effect both the Pioneer and the Tianglong. I think it was beautifully written by all involved and kept the tension of a hostage situation high. It also showcases the talent prevalent in both sims. Well done to everyone...

A huge portion of the mission Empok's End was battle. Both between ships and on the ground. I am awarding this award to everyone who participated in this epic battle scenes. Scenes that can be hard to write as they are very visual. These writers deserve special recognition for making you feel like you were there in the heat of battle. Awarded for the portrayal of Quinn O Flannagain, Domingo Martinez, and various antagonists.

“For the month of May, I would like to award the Silver UoM for Task Force 47 to the crew of the USS Pioneer. The sim consistently performs well month in month out, and I feel, that in light of this month’s high quality and quantity of posting in these incredibly difficult times, and their 100% score in their audit, that the Pioneer and her crew are deserving of this award. I look forward to seeing what they put out going forward. Well done all!” ------Oliver Lancaster, TFCO, TF47-

What can I say about Quinn. He is my right hand man and very often my conscious. This mission would not have been successful if it were not for his cheering, his pushing, and his spreadsheets. I am forever in his debt and there is no one more deserving of this award for this mission. Thanks for being a part of this community and assisting in making the Pioneer one of the top sims in Obsidian Fleet and on the net.
