| Personal History | Fathom was born and raised in Florence, Italy and grew to love the art and culture of the city. But as much as she loves the art and culture, she loves the Mediterranean more. She spent many hours reading books and wading in the shallow waters. She took extra classes in the evening so that she was able to finish her first year of university while still finishing her regular schooling. She received a degree in Marine Biology and underwater archaeology and planned to work for a few years before going back to school, but a friend talked her into joining Starfleet instead.The lure of seeing oceans on other worlds was enough for her to put her other plans on hold. Since joining Starfleet, Fathom has gained a doctorate and published several papers. Her parents run a small café in Florence and from them she has learned to cook. She enjoys cooking for herself and for friends when she has the time and the facilities. Her brother, Tony, spent several years as a gondolier and now works at a shi resort in the Italian alps. |
